Worlds Largest RC Plane Takeoff

The biggest RC piloted plane I have witnessed fly; was the NASA full scale Boeing 720 that we flew as a test bed for the degraded fuel program; this program was called the CID program, and that stood for (crash in desert) I can remember when that thing flew over my head on it's final flight to the blades; it gave me chills all over my body just knowing that there was nobody aboard and, it was on it's way to total destruction in front of my eyes. Bob, is this the plane we see video of them crashing in the desert and the barriers they set up to rip the engines and wings off to test how well the skin of the plane would withstand the fire?

Yes it was, it was a year or two before I left Lancaster, CA and moved to Texas

Its fake, computer graphics, same outfit that did the CGI of the one wing landing. Yes I know its been done on models, but the video of the supposed full scale plane is fake, both done for a publicity stunt.

i have seen the byron bomber several times and have seen it crash twice i believe! that was VERY impressive back in the mid 80's... the other biggest plans were maybe 30%'ers! it made teh 29ft span bomber seem unreal!

Not that good of a CGI outfit either.
