Well I'm sure I'll be seeing you around blackbeer also. I'm in Whidbey and have been flying with Ken and the boys up at Bellair a few times. Though the last time my covering ripped off the wing but thats all fixed now (fingers crossed)

Cool Sweetpea; ya Ken is the dirty rat that kicked me out of my comfort zone last year. I had never heard of 3D until I was at the clubs WarBirds meet last year. He did a 3D demo and I was just blown away. Been driving myself crazy ever since trying to learn all that stuff. Looking forward to meeting you.

Okay guys, I tried to get some tach readings on the 50HP today. As you can see from the first attempt the light, or lack thereof, is playing havoc with the tach. It's a brand new one with new batteries. I now have two as the other one did the same thing so I bought a new one. They both calibrate dead on 3600 when pointed at a light in the house so they're good. Bottom line is that the engine, with less then a gallon of fuel through it, is turning a Vess 22A @ 6900 rpm. You can watch for yourselves.

Okay, I just watched the video since uploading it to YouTube and having them convert it and I apoligize for the crap picture of the tach On the second test it actually reads 6900. Try and see if you can read it. If not I'll have to do another one. Maybe if I upload it direct to FG the problem will go away.

Yeah Stang, I just came in from running the rest of the gas through it and it's ripping the 22A. I'm sure it's running higher then the tach readings but I'm not going to make any claims I can't substantiate. All I can say is run your DA 50 with a Vess 22A and see what rpm it rips the prop at.

Couldn't tell ya buddy! Never owned one and never will. It is a sweet package for the price though and the performance is right up there with DA and DL.
