I just got a used one for 460.00 Came with a THOR 45, all servos and a RD 8000 Transmitter. Hard to pass up a deal like that.

My RC Guys Decathlon arrives this weekend along with a DLE 30.

I currently have a hangar9 cessna 182 and was out flying with a friend that has the RC Guys Cessna 150. after looking this plane over and then flying it, I was convinced and had to get a bird from these guys. Since I had a cessna already I went for the Decathlon. I might add that both our cessnas are running g26's with 18x8's and his 150 way out flew my 182 by far!

Anyways....Friday will come and I'll give my two cents.

Thinking a 20x10? Anyone? Looking for scale looks.

I going with a 20x6 xoar sword. I have a Sullivan Skywriter for it already. I ordered up some hinges, triangle balsa, fiber glass and 10mm bolts to mount the motor.

All went well. She flew superb!! The 30 was the best choice for me because of the scale it gives the plane. Aerobatics are very scale with little extra. If I was to do it all again I would run the same setup with the same motor.

Hey guys, I realize this is an older thread, but I thought it would be better to post here rather than start a new one. Anyways, I am thinking about getting the RC Guys Decathlon myself and I am planning on using a DLE30 on it, however I would like to get a better feel of what kind of performance I can expect with that engine. I am also planning to install a smoke system and I am afraid that the extra weight might be too much for the DLE30 to handle. I am not looking for 3D performance, however I would like to have a little bit extra power to keep me out of trouble if I do something stupid

The plan for the smoke system is to keep everything else as light as possible to offset as much of the weight possible. I am planning on using two 1100mAh A123 batteries to power the receiver, smoke pump and the ignition through an IBEF. I am also planning on using two 11oz Fiji bottles for fuel and smoke oil.

Awesome please let us know how you like the performance with that engine. What are you first impressions about the kit? Is the included hardware any good?

Im planning on picking one of these up and mounting a DLE-30 as well. I noticed in the manual it mentions that with engines less than 3lbs you want to consider mounting the elevator servos on the tray rather than in the tail. How did yours balance with the DLE-30? I do like the idea of mounting the servos inside for a more scale look but that seems like a really long way for the pushrods to run.
