Two flat head screw drivers under the arm. Place scew drivers 180 to each other. Twist in oposite directions. Arm will pry off without putting a side load on the output shaft.

What I do is loosen the servo arm screw about half way. Then I put the servo arm on a drill press vice with the servo sitting in between the jaws, but no pressure on the servo case. Then I tap the the screw. After a few light taps, loosen the screw a little more since the servo starts to slide out of the servo arm. Tap it one more time and the servo drops right out of the arm. Now take the screw off. This is my favorite way. I hate gouging up the the arm and/or servo with the screw drive. I think this is the least traumatic.

Yeah, and it will pry into the plastic servo case - not a great way to do it. Instead, don't twist on the screwdrivers, just use them as levers to lift the arm off the shaft.
Usually, you can just work it off with your fingers, it just takes a lot of effort.
If it simply refuses to come off you can thread the servo arm screw back into the servo a few threads, find a way to support the servo arm and push on the screw to push the servo shaft out of the servo arm instead of trying to pull the servo arm off the shaft.
You could use a pair of needle nose pliers with one jaw under the servo arm as close to the servo shaft as possible and the other jaw on the servo screw. If that angles the pliers too much to make them effective, use a screwdriver or something similar as a lever arm, with one end under the jaw of the pliers and the other over the screw, then use that "lever" to push down on the screw.

This may be a silly question but if it is a JR arm, have you loosened the 2 cap screws?

Just checking.

I think he's referring to the older gold arms that are snug to say the least.

Ha, ha! That would be funny! I was just assuming that it was like an Airwild 1.5" arm for a JR servo. If it is a JR double-lock arm, uh, yeah, uh, loosen the clamping screws first! That will, uh, help.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I came up with a way that worked well. I had a small flat wrench that came with one of my OS engines so I ground it to a taper to act a wedge. I inserted it between the servo arm and case and tapped lightly and the arm came off without damage. Give it a try. Sorry I have no pix but would be happy to provide one on request if needed.
Thanks again

That sounds very close to what I described above but I like your idea of pushing on the screw instead of lightly tapping the screw with a hammer. Yours is even less traumatic. I'll try that next time.
