Hi,
at first I hope you're understanding my "German" english (my teachers gave up long tima ago) ![]() I good friend of mine and I are very big Pitts Biplane Freaks (I'm a bit more ). Since about 2-3 Years I wished there is an good looking Pitts Kit available with about 2.5-2.6m Wingspan...but there is nothing. So I started planing my own Pitts in spring this year. First decision I've had to make was: "which one would I built?"...the answer was not so difficult becouse I'm a fan of Skip Stewart and his Prometheus since I saw the first Videos on youtube in early 2007. Next step was to contact Skip Stewart hoping to get some information and photos of his Pitts. Then came something impressive, this guy sent me absolutly everything I needed and always answers all of my questions, mostly the same day, PERFECT! ![]() Because of this big help I was very sure that I made the right decision choosing Prometheus.Over summertime I started drawing the first parts and now in winter the work began. 2 months ago my friend became part of this project and will get a Bulldog I Pitts (Fuselage and Wings are the same as on Prometheus, but other gear, rudder, elevator, hood and some small differences). To built as close as possible to the original the fuselage on these Pitts' will be built of carbon tube..and there are many other specials planned ;-) Wingspan will be 2.55m, weight about 19-22kg, motors are not sure yet (4 cylinder will be great, but there is not enough money), servos quite not sure..... Thist Thread will not be a complete building report but I will add many pictures in period. Because of the lot of work both planes will not fly in the next 8-9 moths. So enogh words, here are the first pictures of the first part: Fuselage Prometheus I hope you all like it

Hi,
here I am with some new pictures. Now I think everyone can see the shape of a Pitts when he looks at my fuselage.

Very cool! It's going to be interesting to see how it comes out weight wise compared to a "conventional" structure. Great choice of aircraft too, Skip's a cool dude and one hell of an entertainer.

Skip is my favorit Bi-plane pilot. Watched him a couple years a go in Marion IL. He did the Knife Edge on take off close to two-three feet off deck as his opener. Great pilot and he made alot of time for meet and greet! Looking forward to seeing him fly again!
