Send your dotted 6014 to tkilwein , he has an actual professional environmental test chamber and will test the receiver.

Where did you buy the receiver?

I got my dotted 6014 from Hobby Services about 2 weeks ago as a replacement on a failed 6014.

Has anyone purchased a gold dot 6014 from Tower or elsewhere?

This is all confusing and Futaba not responding is almost enough to make me look at other manufacturers! No dot, white dot gold dot LOL ***.
Original non dotted RX's failed so they upgraded them and marked them with a white dot; then the white dots failed so they upgraded them to a gold dot............. doesn't add up!

I just saw a lady bug in my house. It has black dots! What does this mean?

It was cavorting with another lady bug. I think it means that bug is no lady!

I was a crash dummy twice, shame on me! I waiting on the sideline for others to test the new equipment. My Multi FASST is grounded. The customer service makes me sick! There are guys out there that lost expensive planes do to the "heat issue" denial!! I lost an ARF not bad compared to some kit builders, scale modelers, jet guys, etc... All I know is I saw it first hand and it is real!

I'm not saying it isn't real....... I am saying I want answers.... damn Futaba for allowing us to assume!

Bax said they have dropped a note to Futaba to ask about the dots. Wonder why they just can't pick up the phone and call? They seem to have a very strange MFG to distributer relationship that seems to get passed on to U.S. customer support. They do not seem to keep their distributers and direct field support staff up-to-date as we customers would like.

I wonder if they realize how this directly impacts sales. For example, I have two 6014s and need to purchase another. But since it looks like there could be an unconfirmed updated model on the market, I have been holding back until I know for sure.

If they do have an updated model on the market, they should do what other mfgs do, drop the price on the old model to get them out of the way and let their customers know what is going on!

I still think Futaba has the better system. It will only get stronger as they work through this issue. I do not plan on putting any of my 6014s in an oven however. My hats off to you that do to help the rest of us out. I don't see how baking them can be good. My back ground is software development not hardware so I will leave that to the experts.

Me too. I'd buy a few receivers if I was sure that they were the updated models, but it's just a crapshoot. I was going to buy a second 12FG as a spare during the big Xmas sale but again, I waited because I want to see the receiver situation resolved for sure. I'm quite certain that they were selling older stock and the receivers would be the older version.

To add insult to injury, I have a pile of Spektrum receivers so I'm using a Spektrum module on my 12FG for most of my planes. I can wait longer than they can I bet!

If they don't have the situation resolved by the time Airtronics has their FHSS 10 channel available that will probably become my spare.

I'm in the same boat. I am going to change my 12Z over to 2.4 as soon as I know the updated recievers are a sure thing. I'd realy like to get one going before Spring. If any one is getting rid of a 2.4 transmitter module for the 12 or 14, send me a PM.

It has been over six months since the Futaba heat issue came to light I was certain that Futaba did want to admit
to the problem after a couple of months of silence from them and it seems I was right. The good news is it seems
Futaba begain ship corrected receiver around Sept of 08 but because they did not admit to the problem in the first
place they cant admit to the cure for the problem, However lets hope that in a few months all of the old receivers
have worked through the pipline although I think Futaba is doing them self a diservice by not giving their customers
the status of the reworked receivers.
