Hey Kiwi's and Ozzies
![]() Not long till the 2009 Waharoa Rumble on 13/14/15 Feb 2009 in New Zealand. (For all you American's, contrary to what you have been lead to beleive, no, New Zealand is not in Scandinavia, or Europe, in fact it couldn't be further away. Its down the other side of the Pacific Ocean, about a 4 hour flight East of Australia. Yep that big place with all the bouncing Kangaroo's and tremblin' sheep). Sorry, got distracted on the Geography lesson. Last year's Rumble was huge with about $5000 in prizes and loot being dished out. 2009 will be just as good, if not better. Word is a number of Ozzies are coming over ? If so, then lets hear from you on this thread. Plus a few South Islanders thinking of making the trip up to the "main" Island too. Not suprising, as they have just had the Nats down there, so there are keen to actually do some flying. Entry forms will be sorted soon. Should be a pic of the poster attached to the thread. 2009 IMAC Sequences are out, so get practicing. ![]() Cher Bogan Frazer Briggs Dat Rumble Organiser Bloke. |

Pylon .... not sure at this stage if there will be Q500 Pylon. If all these ozzies who say they are coming over, actually do come over, we'll have a huge entry in IMAC, and we'll need all three days for flying IMAC.
Yes we can run Pylon on Thursday afternoon, but I'm not so sure how much interest we will get for that up here, most will be travelling to the event, concentrating on IMAC. Plus we'll need a volunteer to run it. I'll be busy getting the field setup, and sorting out people who are borrowing models. On the other hand, if the ozzie's are all talk, and there is a demand for Pylon, then fo sure it will happen on the Friday just like last year. FB |

Hey Talbs, great stuff.
Most will be staying at the Cabins on the Airfeild, but these are sort of styled for blokes accom. $12.50 a night gets you a room with a luxurious bunk bed, with a matress on it, and a door (if you're lucky !). Its great for a boys weekend, cheap and cheerful. You guys might be looking for something a little more upmarket seen as you're bringing the war office along. Matamata is only 10 mins up the road, and there are a few motels there. Book yourself into one of them, the dinner on the Saturday night is going to be in Matamata too, so it'll work out schmick. www.broadwaymatamata.co.nz or www.oreillys.co.nz Boges |

Wahoo!!... only 36 days to go to the 2009 "Waharoa Rumble"
I can't wait, just been out today practising for the Springhill Challenge this weekend. Bogan is away next week for a week, so if anyone wants to pre enter, please send me a pm and I will do the secretary stuff. For the rest of the Aussie contingent, can you let me know sooner rather than later so we have plenty of time to organise models and gear for you guys. Cheers Alpal |

For all you locals, is the O'Reillys Motel a nice place to stay at Matamata. Ie, will the 'trouble and strife' be happy staying there for the 4-5 days?
