OK, I have a 170 in the mail and a whole gang of 8711's looking for a home. I don't have exhaust yet as I am deciding on a plane. I have read the many threads on here about different planes. I am headed to the AMA show to hopefully see some planes in person. Maybe even pick one up.
I don't compete in IMAC so this bird is mostly for 3D. I plan to beat on this plane so i want to stay away from $2K plus planes right now. I have had several smaller AeroWorks planes and Love them. I'm disapointed they would not let me backorder the 260 at the sale price though!! My flying buddy just got an Ace/TT TOC Yak, it looks great, performs great and went together well. I am not crazy about the older QQ "circus colors" but I can live with the new Kimball scheme. Last edited by Sevans16; 01-08-2009 at 01:00 AM. |

Uh, anything that flies on a 150-170?
![]() Okay seriously though if you're into 3D then you might want to check out the PAU Edge at 1500 with hardware. At 3000sq inches of wing area it's one huge plane, and can accept cannisters or pipes. I am putting a DA-150 in mine and am planning on using tuned pipes. |

I have last years last run of SD Models 40% Yak, (http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...ls-40-yak.html) although it was highly massaged on to be really light, it is a awesome plane. The quality of CRAFTSMANSHIP on these ARF's are the best in our opinion. Now the 2 men behind Pilot RC are from SD models, and these planes seem to be better than their sd's. They are about to ship the NEW 40% yak's, I would look really hard at them. Also the current run of TOC/TT arf's seem to be really nice too, a bud just maidened a 35% 260 last sun. and that plane looks well constructed(structurally speaking). But just about any 40-43% bird would be just as good in the air w/DA170...I love mine. But your gonna fork out the dough for a plane this size, maybe you can get a good deal in the swapshop.
![]() Or you could get a BH 50% edge/260, strip it, make it insanely light and fly it with the 170 on pipes...now that would be badass....lol flame suit on....

I like the whole Pilot story. I was looking at there Yak. Again it was on Xmas sale. I couldn't figure out how to buy one online. I sent an e-mail and posted on the sale thread here on FG, to date I have not heard anything. In fact I sent an e-mail for a quote on a Comp-Arf and haven't heard anything back. I love it: bad economy, slow sales, etc... And I can't buy a plane!! I really wish A/W would have let me order a 260 for the sale price. I have had 3 A/W planes. My latest was the 85cc Yak(2weeks before sale) dang it!!

Check out the Jtec 3.2M Extra. I have the 2.7M and love it. If the 3.2M flys anything like the 2.7M you will be very happy with it. I am sure Al will be happy to sell you one

$1300 for the QQ is crazy!!
I saw PlaneBender bend his TT260 like mad at the STL Huckfest.....the 170 yanked it around pretty good!

WOW, $1299.00, thats a good deal....I loved my 102" GII, but the quality was lacking to say the least, the covering absolutely sucked and the fit and finish was very bad too while assembling it, the thing needed major surgery to get things to fit and line up, even had to get new stabs, BUT....QQ's customer service is awesome and the plane flew so friggin good, I actually regret selling it. At this price Dude, it's hard to pass this up. JMO of course.

The BIG QQ YAK is of insane quality.
Papa Stek had one... and it was flawless when he got it. And it was HUGE!! $1299 is an insane deal.

The QQ looks nice, especially for the price. QQ customer service is very good, they have read my signature...
I had a chance to fly the 43% PAU Edge on a DA 170 last week and it is phenominal. That really is a great combination and the plane just flies SO well. It is HUGE in person but flies like a big, 38# slow foamie.

They did offer them, they must have been as long lived as the ML scheme!! I was going to order one last year but they sold out before I could raise the money!! What wrong with those guys at QQ? One batch of such an awesome scheme!!
