You are getting off topic Reza, it was a post on this site so stick to this site. You have to admit that the QQ120 is not the best quality ARF out there. I find it funny other people have said bad things about QQ and you have had nothing to say. You need to seriously reconcider the way you act towards people if you want them to respect you, and buy the product you represent. I think QQ needs to find a pilot like Jason who can show what his planes can auctually do, besides fly in circles.

This is true he can not post under his real name and there are no bad feelings toward the FG staff on this matter |

Reza... it is my opinion, this shoulda at least been attempted to be handled privately. A 3 way with you and Sleepy(or other FG admin) and ST.... I was shocked to read what you had posted.. especially since ST was pretty much telling the truth about the QQ120.... ST Bought one.... I am positive he would rather post that "it is an awesome plane and flies great and he wants to get another plane"... (Well... from what I can see.. it flies really bad ass!!) I know Jason.. I know that he does not enjoy the fact that from his observation, the QQ120 is a bit less then what we all expect (fit, finish cowl/canopy assy).... he is a flyer... he enjoys planes that fly great and assemble easy and look good. And ST will tell anyone to their face how good he thinks this plane flies! (His current favorite is another QQ Designed plane btw) I still think the QQ120 would be a gnarly plane with a DA170!!! (or a WWW170) |

reza...
you probably don't remember me. i attended one of QQ's classes at the nall and asked a couple "power loss vs performance loss" questions about the a123 setup directly into a 9100 rx..... anyway, i wanted to publicly say how much i appreciated both you and QQ spending about 20-30 minutes after the class going over this stuff with me even though i have not purchased anything from you guys! i really thought you folks were stand up people! just my $.02 matt

Hey guys... lets put a muzzel on the name calling and such.
Opinions are great if presented in the right way. The FC vs FG thing is something that I haven't spent one second thinking about in the past 16 months until this very moment. And I'm already bored by it again. Please just try and respect each other a little more.

I have ALWAYS LOVED the look of the Edge (especially after watching Red Bull Air Races), and have ALWAYS HATED flying them. Most of the Edges I have flown over the years must be "forced" into a decent-looking stall and it is at the same time too easy to bury a snap. I never got anywhere near full throttle on the 170 so I would say the power is plentiful. The huge wing area makes it float like a kite too. I can best describe it as a cross between an Extra 260 at high speed and an Edge at low speed/3D speed. Does that make any sense? It is straight and true throughout the speed range and does not fight the pilot. IIRC Dave didn't have any mixes programmed yet and the coupling was very minor. I will say that I liked it so much that the 36% version is on my very short list (between three 100cc planes now) to buy for this summer. **disclaimer** Also, in case anybody is wondering, my location in Washington State has nothing at all to do with my support for this plane or PAU. I have absolutely no affiliation with PAU or any other manufacturer, and if I buy a kit it is because I believe it to be the best use of the hundred-thousand+ pennies I hope to scrape together between buying diapers and food and a roof over my head. In fact, the only benefit I will have over most people in this forum is I would be able to pay WA state tax (8.6%) instead of shipping charges if I drive up and pick it up myself. I am not a member of any mythical "local cheering section", if such a thing exists. I will try to fly a few IMAC contests this year but have yet to meet anybody from WA on this forum because I moved here from New England 4 months ago. This endorsement is not an ad, just a simple opinion from a person who has flown most of the planes on the market for the 30+ years I have been fortunate enough to fly RC planes (yes, I am 37 now). I happen to believe this one works very well FOR ME. Perhaps for others too. |

BTerry, we are planning a small informal fly-in at Bellair on Sunday. Come on out and say hi, we're a good bunch. I'm making a three hour drive just to hang with the group up there.

The Pilot RC planes are supposed to be a bit lighter. Incidentally (for anybody who cares to answer), what do people look for in videos? What tells somebody whether a plane flies well or not? Do you look at the precision characteristics - specifically roll damping in point rolls, linear tracking in a snap, yaw damping in a hammerhead - or simply 3D stuff? Peg the aileron/left rudder/down elevator/right rudder/up elevator stuff? Just curious. I have seen talented pilots do some amazing things with an Ultra Stick or similar plane but wouldn't say that proves a plane can fly well for the average swinging d... |
