I hope I can make it, but that might conflict with my marriage! We have the Cactus the following weekend, a 3D fly-in the week after, and a 3D fly-in the week before! I am giving my wife all of February, though, so hopefully that counts...

Is this for sure? I looked on the mini-iac site and it's not listed in the SC section.

Yes, this is for sure. Not sure why it's not on the IMAC site. Need to fix that.

The contest should be listed soon. It sure helps the organizers when people use the website's pre-registration feature. This has always been a great contest. I hope everyone who can will come and that we can get a good list of contestants going soon.

They guy in our club that usually CDs it is not able to this year, and we didn't have anyone else CD-qualified to do it. So, we've recruited A.J. Lee from Odessa to CD it for us. Information should start coming out by the end of next week at the latest.

To bring this thread back to the forefront, we're just a few days away from the El Paso IMAC contest ... March 21 and 22 ... and still at the same field in NE El Paso. http://www.eprcflyers.com/

The weather forecast for the weekend .. temps in the low 80's and moderate winds. I think we've got several local guys flying this year as well as friends from the Midland-Odessa area (and thanks to AJ Lee for CDing).

We hope that all of you in New Mexico and southern Arizona can make the trip!

See you this weekend!

It's almost flyin' time in El Paso. Can't make any guarentees, but I'll try to give reports the next two nights.

OK...here's the report from day one. We had absolutely tremendous weather today. Clear blue skies, and light winds. The best part was that there were no crashes or other mishaps today. We had 10 pilots in three classifications show up for the competition. At the conclusion of the day the current standing are:
Basic
Tony Scott

Hmm...apparently the "TAB" button does something different.

Basic
Tony Scott 4000
Ross Jackson 3805.4
Ed Bird 2876.3
Ray Pritchett 2642

Sportsman
Scott Pool 4000
Rick Strange 3767.7
Gary Powers 3666.2
Ken Warren 2908.8

Intermediate
A.J. Lee 3995.3
Grant Innes 3885.6

Some of the scores in Sportsman and Intermediate are very close, so tomorrow's Unknowns will play a big part in determining the winners of those classes.
