Default Virtual Freestyle Challenge 2009 - Updated!

Hello everybody!

I would like to present the “Virtual Freestyle Challenge 2009” (VFC 09): http://www.acro3d.com/VFC/vfc09EN.htm

This innovative contest has the purpose of promoting rc aerobatics around the globe. Due to the high percentage of rc pilots who use to fly with rc simulators, this contest is a good opportunity for them to compete against pilots from all around the world without even leaving their own home.

This contest is about flying a 4 minutes Freestyle routine, similar to the ones that are flown in IMAC Freestyle championships, but with a rc simulator. The flight will be recorded (captured) in the PC and it will be sent to Acro3D crew.

Freestyle flights will be judged and published in Acro3D.com. Obviously, different prizes donated by our sponsors will be granted for the best three flights of each category. Apart from that, different prizes raffles will be made so that every contestant has an opportunity to win some kind of prize.

Pilots from any country are encouraged to participate. There is no entry fee. Video entries are accepted until March 31st (However, it's advisable to send the register forms as soon as possible).

2 categories: Advanced and Unlimited.
Admitted Simulators: Realflight, Aerofly Pro Deluxe, Reflex, and Phoenix RC.

Right now there are about 50 pilots from 9 different countries: Pilot list -> http://www.acro3d.com/VFC/inscripcionesVFC09EN.htm
Here you have a little teaser video of this event: ://www.acro3d.com/VFC/VFC09-Trailer.wmvI hope you like it,

Hi William, we have already received your register form and you already are in the pilot list.

Daniel, Video entries are accepted until March 31 st. However, it's highly recommended that pilots send their register forms as soon as possible, so that we can send event news by email, and instructions to upload the videos.

Please, to get in look the register section: http://www.acro3d.com/VFC/inscripcionesvfc09EN.htm

Have fun with your freestyles' practice!

Hi Juan,

My computer isn't fast enough to record with the Camtasia studio. Fraps might be a tiny bit easier on it, but I haven't figured it out yet. When will you have the instructions on recording? I have recorded my freesyle with the camcorder, but the quality isn't that great. I have it posted here: http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...hp?photo=55059
Please let me know if this will be fine to send, or if I need to use somthing to record the screen. Thanks for your input.

Oh yeah, don't copy me... :-)

hi Daniel, that was a really good freestyle. People is using fraps, however I think it also needs quite a good PC. We are sending some instructions to the pilots who register. Anyway, I should say that, if you aren't able to capture it with fraps because of PC, that video quality was good, and it almost doesn't seem that it's been recorded with a cam.

best regards

Extraction of the rules "Pilots can touch the ground smoothly, in the same way it's possible to do it in real life, not more."

You can read the complete scoring criteria here http://www.acro3d.com/VFC/puntuacionvfc09EN.htm

Well, today was really interesting in terms of pilot entries. We have received a couple entries from UK, two Slovenians, one from Israel, one from Hungary, and a very special one from Lithuania, somebody called Donatas Pauzoulis. I've heard the guy can fly I hope tomorrow my friend Luis (Aka. Luispain) is able to upload all those new entries.

Also, I would like to thank our recently added US Sponsors, Towerhobbies and Peak Electronics.

Anyway, we are still hoping for some USA pilots...

Will keep you informed

Hi Daniel,

we have received your entry form and you're on the pilots list. About the pilot from Israel, his name is Edan Banimand it's in Unlimited. It would be very exciting to have Ido at VFC09. This summer I have the pleasure of meeting him and flying along with him in the German Acromasters, and I think he is a really good pilot, as well as a great guy (also his brother Yonatan).

About the VFC09, some updates: we have now 5 USA pilots, and about 15 different countries.

Also, we are getting some very good prizes from our sponsors. I would like to thank our new sponsors: Engel Modellbau, Frank Tiano, RC Hobby Factory, Fly Model, 42 Percent Products, Hobby Lobby, B&E Graphix, Cyber-Hobbies and Fibrojet.

keep practicing!

I just send my registration email...

It will be a nice contest to watch, but with Pauzuolis in, what can we say!!! This guy could be the best flyer in the world at the moment...

Again, congratulation to Acro3D!
