Your testing is probably just as good as mine, but I'll do my best to verify your findings.

Also, could you post pics of the PCB? Just in case the gold dots don't always mean a new hardware revision...

I feel for you guys in Arizona, and understand your concerns. I wear a Team shirt, and therefore my experiences are considered tainted online. Completely understand.

I've been running two original 6014's, in my new Godfrey 300 and an Aeroworks 35% Yak. They are installed on their sides and are not wrapped in foam. My flying bud also has one installed in a Godfrey, as well as two turbine aircraft.

Our weather in West Texas is almost identical to that in Phoenix. We are in the high desert at 3000 ft and see temps over 100 days at a time, making the temps on the asphalt hot enough that your feet start to burn through your shoes before you get through a tank of fuel.

We are both running single reciever setups, and have through summer heat with no issues. The only precaution I've taken in addition to the suggestions in my setups is a 3 inch square piece of depron that velcros to the top of the reciever to shield it from direct sunlight. I also put the plane in the shade between flights, which i always did before anyhow. I haven't modified the recievers any other way, with fans, etc.

The only issue I've ever witnessed involved a Comp-Arf Yak with internal pipes. The gentlemen did not provide any air exit, not even the normal amount. The reciever was encased in white foam and sitting directly above the pipes. His setup was basically an insulated oven for the reciever, which would have probably killed any reciever, as has been demonstrated years ago with this type of setup on PCM.

[quote=gmorales83;663037]I soaked my 6014 receiver in turpentine, heated it to 150 F, farted on it and then whacked it four, only four times with a mallet......darn thing stopped working...cheap piece of crap! I'm switching to FM !

I bet temp had nothing to do with it! It was your FART that made it quit

I just got my 6014 in the mail - It has no dot and is the first hardware revision

Buuuut... I know someone who has a dotted 6014. I'll try to talk him into borrowing me his RX.

The difference is the dot.

Seriously though, I did some testing but I have to redo it - I had no servos connected to the RX and BOTH the dotted and non-dotted 6014 kept working past 90 degrees this time o.O

You need to let the receiver stay at the same temp. for at least 15 minutes with the door closed before going higher. Otherwise you are just measuring the air temp. in the oven. As a final step, pick an impressive temp. and let the receiver bake for an hour.

I did that. The entire test took well over 3 hours. But again, I need to redo it with servos hooked to the receiver because otherwise the test is worthless.

I'm a little confused here. Are you saying that the green light stays on but the servos stop responding ? i.e. the RF is still working but whatever is generating the servo outputs is not. Anyway, we all want to know at what temp. the entire airborne system is good to go. Put one servo in the oven with the receiver ?

I'm saying that I did the test without servos and yes, the light stayed green. I hope to get to do a proper test with servos this weekend.

I just got a new 6014HS and it has a gold dot on it, yes a HS the new version with six optimised channels for digital servo's, can anyone tell me why a new version of the 6014 needs updating?
