Ok. But you think EF stuff is the best on the Market. Would I be Right? What torque are those Hitec servos. Does anyone else think the Ef stuff is the best out there? So would you get the Edge over the Extra Joe?

Only because it's the latest and greatest. Their designs just keep getting better.

Isn't the Edge meant to be more of a 3D monster. Reason I ask is because I want this 50cc for getting my 3D up to scratch. Does the Extra fly good 3D and IMAC?

I agree with that EF's fly freakin amazing. My first GS plane is currently their 88" yak and it flies and presents itself like some of the 100CC's i've seen.

An extra does 3D and precision well while the Edges will do 3d awesome.

As for servos, if you want to save some money, check out the Power HD9150's. They are like $30, something like 300 oz/in, full metal gear. People here sware by them. I personally run Hitec 5955's

Will pick up the 30% Pilot 300 Extra with Red/White Eagle scheme next week. Was going to install 7954SH Hitec's in her @ 333oz at 6v. However, someone told me that they will chatter on 2.4. Flying 72 now, but will switch soon. For $10 bucks more, I can install the 7955TG. Anyone have any comments on the chattering? Both are rated at 333oz's.
Thanks in advance!

Well, just got back home from driving over to Sarasota to pick up my new Pilot 300 Extra from TBM. With past experiences with UPS, just didn't want to trust them that last 100 miles. All I can say is "WOW"! My hats off to Tony and the Pilot crew. This plane was packed like it was a Tiffany chandelier. First ARF I have seen with no wrinkles on the covering as well. First class for sure.
This is the 03 scheme. Red/White/Checked Eagle.
If this plane flies as good as it looks, I will be ecstatic. Maybe it can make me a better pilot as well??????
Just a FYI, TBM has the DLE55 on their site for $354 and change. Great deal!

Hey Marc; Noticed in your build that your landing gear cuffs are red. Mine are white on same color scheme. Also, you mentioned that the elevators already have the arms installed. Not on this plane. Wonder why there are some differences? Tony?

Started working on my plane. Here are some pictures of the pilot I installed in cockpit. Not bad, but wanted a Red Aero pilot, but cash a little short right now.

Installed the firewall yesterday and some of the servos. Got Hitec 7955 on all the surfaces. Smart Fly going in as well. Not sure if I will go with the Sport Pro or the EQ12. I like the Deans and will always have the kill switch too.
I will say that Pilot does an outstanding job with the covering. Best I have ever seen on an ARF. Integrity of the plane is well thought out and strong. Going to use that small fuel tank for the smoke and install it in the canister opening. Going with a 24 oz for the fuel and got rid of that fuel dot as well. Not sure who thought a threaded fuel dot was going to work??????? All in all very happy with plane. Just wish they would have set the firewall from the factory. Sure would have made it easier, at least for me. I can always get standoff's to fit.
Oh, and mounted the removable wire for the rudder from the bottom like a few others did and used a nylon strap to hold in place under the tail wheel. Not sure if I am going to replace that or not. Will see how long it lasts. Will replace with either a J&J or White-rose when it goes.
