On the firewall issue, i see you mounted yours in a reverse manner to how the manual depicts it. I installed mine the way they suggest and it works 100%.

Any reason for going the way you did ?

Looks like he wanted to use the stock stand offs. I just built a 30% Yak and had to buy some different length ones. It was a real pain getting the right length. Where I wanted the engine to be put the carb adjustment screws in the middle of the firewall so I moved it out even more. I now have my engine out pretty far but I needed it to balance with a canister exhaust. I used tri stock on the back and put Gorilla glue on the aluminum angle before screwing it down with wood screws. If you back the firewall with triangle stock you dont have to replace the aluminum angle included with the kit.

THIS THING IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!! stick it in a flat spin and you will have to wait a while for it to eventually come down.

hoping to get a video on sunday as we have a fly - in at an Airforce Base.

Funtana X50,
the Alu brackets were a little tight and fitted better the other way around. both ways work just as good. putting it that way it also allowed for some triangle stock at the rear of the fire wall.

Maineflyer,
what engine and muffler are you going to use?

Excellent!
what muffler system are you going to use?

also Just out of interest to kind of get an idea of your final weight:

I will either go stock muffler or pitts muffler, A123 batteries 1100x2 for receiver and 1 with a regulator for the ignition. 5985s Ails and Eles and 5955 for the rudder, AR7000 for the receiver. Waiting for your video. Hopefully this weekend??

I am trying to get hold of a video camera. a friend of mine has one and may be coming to the fly in tomorrow so hopefully he will remember to bring it.

I have a heads up for you:
if you have a look at what I had to do to get the cowl over the pitts muffler. it will take some time.
also, I went and reinforced the underside of the cowl where the 2 underside bolts go with fiberglass.
