Hey guys, TNT have started to offer Milled Aluminum landing gear.
Really nice. Can save a ton of weight and yet be STRONG! TNT says:

I just saw this offering from TNT and it looks to be a nice option.
I recently had a set of gear done similar to these for a project and was lucky enough to have found someone capable of doing this to my gear for me. Having a sorce like TNT does give this option to many others looking to save weight in the planes and still use aluminum gear. Nice option TNT

Nice looking but 6061 is too soft.

Very nice! What about 7076 ? I have used it and was surprised at how much stronger it is over 6061.

Has anyone used this gear yet? I'm considering it for my 42% Dalton. I "REALLY" don't care for the gear that came in the kit.

I wish they weren't so expensive! I can get CF gear for 75 and these are 95 for my plane...

Here is a low-cost way to lighten an existing aluminum gear. Not as pretty as the CNC cut aluminum, but it has worked OK for me. I use a 4 inch angle grinder to remove the portions of the gear that I did not want. It took me about 30 minutes to achieve this.
