Default Pilot-RC 37.5% Yak with Custom Scheme - Nice!!!!!

I haven't seen a thread on one of these yet and thought I would post some pictures, and give some details as I progress with the build.

I am not calling this a build thread because I just can't seem remember to take pictures and document things when I am in the middle of a build.

First of all let me state Tony at Pilot-RC has been great to deal with. Even with the tremendous time difference he is always responds promptly to emails. I am not sure when he sleeps.

I ordered the plane on January 2, 2009. I received the first batch of pictures on 1/15/09 and got some more today 1/16/09. The plane should be completed by next week and be here by the end of the month.

What made the decision easy for me to choose this plane is that I always loved the way my 30% TOC1 Yak flew, additionally, Pilot-RC just does more work and provides more quality components and Carbon Fiber equipment than any other ARF manufacturer for the same or less money.

The custom scheme option is super nice, I have always been a fan of sleek clean schemes and am a sucker for red white and blue. I using a scheme taken from an Extra, but It will look great on the Yak.

I am going to outfit the plane with the stuff taken from my Krill Yak:

DA-170 with Mufflers.
8711s all around (2 on rudder with SWB Tray, 2 on each aileron, 1 on each Elevator)
PowerBox Royal

Here are the first batch of pictures

Signing on

Very Nice!

The 37.5% yak is a great size. Really a 40% size...not a wanta be... LOL. I have the Aviation's 37.5% and it has been an awesome Yak...and I have quite a few, ranging from the 3.3 composite, 35%er, 33%er, many 30%ers, to the little electrics. This should be another super choice.

This level of customization is just amazing! I wonder if other companies will soon copy this concept.

Just got through exchanging emails with Tony. He is going to leave the center horns off the ailerons and only put one set in on the elevators. He had already glued in both sets for the elevators, but he is going to pull them out and cover the hole. I didn't even think of this to start with, I have never had an ARF with this much done for me.

So far I have been very impressed with the customer service.

The fiewall comes installed, it is attached with aluminum L brackets. This makes it easy to move if needed. Tony said it shouldn't need standoffs with a DA150/170

Awesome looking plane. Are you guys planning on coming to the Chattanooga 3D Jam in August? I would love to see the plane in person.
