A lot of it is just plain being lazy, it's a lot easier to do nothing than go to the garage and "play" with your airplanes. I just got over this, I think, and I had to force myself out there but once I got there and started it was fun. Cleaning the area first is great advice and doing just a little each day is exactly what I did, I just didn't realize it was an organized recovery method. Mostly it's just self discipline of which I have almost zero. Remember it's fun.

1. Pick one plane and plan to bring it to Joe Nall, that way you have a time that it must be ready.
2. Start a build thread, it will keep you going.

A clean slate is a good place to start just finish 1 plane and huck it. Dont forget the AFC / NFC championships are on TV today, maybe drag a TV into the work room toss back a cold one watch the game and "work" on a plane.

SleepyC , do you own a Shamwow ?

I was just talking to my girlfriend about this last night. If I just force myself to the basement and start doing something then I'm ok. Once I get going, I get momentum. Then it sucks when I'm all out of time.

BTW, I could never have that many projects. I'm down to having only two planes: One EF 88" Extra that's flying just fine and an EF 88" Yak that's about half way done. I also have a three year old Shockflyer that's got more glue than foam. Hardly ever fly that. That's it.

Wow...IMO you guys have way too many projects overflowing, for me anyway. I only have 1 plane flying at a time, little to no maintenance on just one. I know what you mean though, years ago I was into 1/8th scale buggy racing, and i had it bad, 7-8 buggies all over the place to build/maintane parts for weeks strung out all over, dozens of lexan bodies, airbrush setup for painting bodies for myself and others, its ALL i did. Then the racing/competition thing got to me and I lost all interest practically overnight...burned out. Then I started flying planes and because I enjoy it more than any other hobby I have done, I swore I would never compete at it, just fly for the enjoyment/relaxation. I never have more than one thing going at a time other than helping bud's out, and I think about stuff all of the time. I want to do lots of things but always tell myself, when the time comes and i need a new plane. I dont take on any more than I want to, because I know when stuff stacks up, it never gets done. I keep interested this way, but thats just me. Do whatever works for you, and I'll build 2 of your planes for you in trade for the 46% Ulti....

Another thing I realized I started doing that seems to help me. Every time I get something done I clean the shop up. Even if i put up the tools i will need for the next thing. Having a clean shop helps me focus, find things and feel less frustrated. Works like magic.

I'll agree with what Sleepy said, and to be honest thats just exactly what i've been doing for my most recent build.

i took it one step at a time: hinge this one night, do one or two servo installs the next and to be honest, all i have left to do (after two weeks of these kinda things) is mount the motor and finish up 3 more linkages. it went by really fast and i got past the whole "but i dont wanna do this stupid electronics setup garbage" stage pretty quickly

Just go on a Meth binge for four days. You have everything done in record time. Downside is you may lose a few teeth...

Mr. pickle. do what I did. First clean the shop, then do a build for the Flying Giants. It's been fun and it kept me going when the guys would ask questions and want asnwers!
