Hi ,
Has anyone flew the Xtremecomposite 44% Edge540 before? The following were the photos of two Xtremecomposite 44% Edge540. The first one's wing was broken in the air after a 180 degree turn followed an accelerating level flight. Xtremecomposite compensated a new 44% Edge540 to me. For the second one, I did a 180 turn and then followed an accelerating level flight again, the wing broke in the air too. Both plane had very short life, less than 5 take-offs and landings. Everybody, what do you guys reckon? |

i have one,,,,,flies good.
what servos and how many in each wing? what control horns? ball joints? power box? looks to me like a classic case of aileron flutter.

I know this is a pretty big bird....so i was just wondering , when you did your 180 degree turn , about where in the throttle we're you? Was it pretty high speed? Not that it should matter that much , as it should have held together no matter what , just curious. I'm sorry for BOTH your loses. Hopefully they will get you taken care of. Honestly , i think i would be using a different airframe from them , or a different brand. That can get expensive considering all the other equipment that can get damaged as well.

Something to do with the engine vibrations, servos/aileron resonant frequency? Looked like plenty of glue.
It would be interesting to see pic's of the servo linkage geometry...if you have any.

Ouch that sucks, I had/have the 33% Edge and flew the pants off of it - no problems there. Sorry you went through losing both planes.

was the fuse vented in the rear to let the pressure out? how big are the holes into the wings for the wires to exit. a couple of pictures look look like the wing opened up. did they build up with pressure and peel open? one of my flying buddies has this plane and it is a beast and rock solid.
