No more hand cranking thanks to Jason B. He gave us the pump assembly, now it's finally put to good use. Sorry Jason it's pumping gas and not Kero.

I made the base to fit a different jug, that's why it's a little big. I used a spring clip for the top holding bracket and servo tape to hold it to the jug. I can't wait to use it, going to be nice to flip a switch and watch the fuel go in instead of turning that hand crank.

It looks surprisingly good inside.
There are a couple rough spots on the crank bearings.
If I can come up with 2 new bearings and the rear of the crankcase (broken mounting ear) I am gonna put it together and fire it up on a test stand.

Jim can the mounting ear be TIG welded back on?

I had a DA50 with a couple of rough spots (bought used) and it's still running strong over a year later. The bearings should be sealed and don't use fuel to lube. Front bearing anyway.

I was wondering if that could be welded.
Might be worth a try.

I'll bring engine with me to the field this weekend and let you check out the bearings.
I just got clearance to get out to SAM... 1 day this weekend.
Things have been a little better since the Doc prescribed him a mild sedative.
Kinda takes the "edge" off.... it's almost like he has a small BUZZ going.... he is very pleasant and manageable now !

That's cool. I live in Oviedo and would like to see one fly. I just got in to the hobby a little over a month ago and bought the electric Parkzone Corsair. Nothing like yours but love the way they look. And I'm a warbird fan.

Bobo you should have stayed at the field after dropping off the buckets . I was in the area and met Phill and the gang for wings. It turned into a three hour BS session. It was a good time the stories never seemed to end.
