Greg,

Thanks alot for the ego boost!!!! This was Doug's plane. I purchased it from him after Top Gun and have been working on the cosmetic changes to it for a couple of weeks. Kind of making it my own..... Adding my personal touches. This is the color scheme I have wanted to build for awhile...

Thanks Again Greg!!!!!

I've been messing around trying to determine if a pilot with 4.75" dia. head would look good in your cockpit?
Looking at your project and trying to use the scale picture's wheel as a rough scale indicator, (yes, that's crude estimating references) I think looking good may end up as a "judgment call".
A man's head is about 1/2 the height of the wheel using the reference file picture attached.

The Classic Aviator's head is about 4.75" high, so if the kit requires the wheels to be + - 8 inches for scale, this 40% guy may be in an acceptable size.
(I love this hobby!)

This figure really has some nice detailing- and would truly " make it my own".
What do you think? Currently you would be the firstin the US to go for it. (sold 2 in S. Africa already)
E mail me if you would like more pictures, or perhaps now that your field is dried out - maybe I could plan a flying day in Sanford? (I plan to be at F.O.Flight tomorrow.)
markc@redaerorc.com
Either way- best of luck with your project and maiden; as the new guy on the front!

If anyone is interested in coming to FOFlight (Mid Fl. RC Club) tomorrow, Kenn & I can sponsor two of you! Let me know!
" Hello, everyone. The rain is allowing the grass to fill in nicely and I hope everyone gets a chance to come out and enjoy the good weather headed our way this weekend. We will have a new guest book that will allow us to keep track of our guests and there waivers. "

Again, I would definitely like to see the pilots... I usually fly on Sundays & Mondays. Feel free to contact me SLSEMINOLE@MSN.COM

Thanks Again My Friend!!! You've been doing your homework. I have painted the vertical stab, Friday night... I also added the Sopwith Aviation wording to it as well. You can see the authentic Sopwith Pup, Happy, Flying on you tube. Just google Sopwith Pup Video. It's been with the Old Warden Air Museum at Shuttleworth, UK since 1937!!!! And still flying....

Here's the full scale. These photos show the word " Happy" in black... But the documentation I have found states that it was done in black.

Thanks Carl!!!

Thanks!!!! Get going on that D VII.. Maybe this will motivate you ... This is a 1/3 scale that flew at the Fantasy of Flight with us earlier this year.

Thanks Homer! The two we sold in S. Africa is one each of a Classic with the traditional fire suit (more modern look) and one with the ascot suit - more "period" look. Can't wait to get pics of both of them together!

Thanks for the invite TEKE! (shame I can't make Flagler with you all today- need to go the other direction to Mid Fl. for photos and get the CA prototype from Kenn. )

Hey maybe your Sanford club could consider something like Daytona successfully has?
They call it a "sponsor" membership; that would allow a 1/2 $ "limited club member" to visit like once a month. In doing so it enables people to join and add funds to the clubs kitty, but they do not use the field in a full time basis.
With 2.4 Ghz number of pilots & planes should not REALLY be as much a problem IMO. Waiting is now more courtesy than mandatory -fewer and fewer pilots have to wait for a pin!

Maybe even consider these limited memberships to 2.4 Ghz fliers only perhaps out of respect to the existing closed membership concerns?
What a great way to bring new juice and excitement to any airfield!?
Just a (selfish) thought! LOL!
Plus I could feel a true part of those funaaaaay bantering club meetings you guys have!

Hey thanks Carl, Dave and CJ for the great visit....Those burgers and dogs were GREAT! Sorry I forgot to tell you that we have a refrigerator.
I was having so much fun that I forgot two planes at the bottom of the hill....just didn't feel like putting the tails on them.
As you guys may know, most clubs won't let you 3D over the runway.... our club has the KGB polizia who caught this guy, cuffed him and took him away!! And yes, in the background is the dreaded HILL.. The breeze was great in the shade though so all you had to do was to make it up the hill.
Photo op, Dmitriy Aka Russian Thunder and Doug AKA Voodoo.
Thanks, I am going to try to rally the gang to come over and visit y'all in the near future, I do look forward to it... but for now it is back to reality.

See you soon.

Richard

Yeah, I agree it was an enjoyable day even though the ride was a bit long. It was also interesting flying off that petro mat, Carl you are going to have to get that tail wheel working if you are going to fly off a hard deck again

It was a chore till the tail got off the ground, then the right thumb could relax.
