Default Torn between two planes...

I am going to buy a new 100cc plane and I am torn between a QQ python and a Aeroworks Yak 54. This will be my new IMAC plane for the next couple of years. Witch one? I love yaks, and I love biplanes. I just don't like putting them together.

I've got the QQ Python, & I would recommend it highly. I think it would do great at IMAC. It really draws some nice lines.

How long have you had it? And how well is it holding up?

For IMAC you should consider a monoplane. As much as I love my QQ Python, it is not my choice for precision flying. It freestyles/3Ds like a champ though. I've had mine for nearly a year. 150 flights later and it is as good as new.

IMAC? Which one has the longer tail? That is your answer.

For IMAC the decision is easy... how many bipes do you see flying in IMAC competitions? Even the H9 Ultimate is marginal for IMAC. I've seen a number of people start with the H9 Ultimate and switch to a monoplane the next season.

go with the Yak. it will fly precision much better than the Python. there's a local pilot that will only fly his python for freestyle routines and 3D. everything else is flown with the Yak

I voted Aeroworks Yak on the poll. Why did you not consider a SD/TOC Yak?

If you compare the two, for the price the Aerowork is a much more complete plane than the TT TOC. I like a plane were the canopy is done at the factory.

That's fair. The Aeroworks are great planes and you can get parts for them.

No disrespect, but the canopy should not be the reason on if you buy a plane or not. I like both planes but if I had to choose it would be the TOC. I heard a lot of good things about this plane and was really considering on buying one for myself. If i am correct there is more wing area on the TOC, which will make it more stable in all aspects. Check out all the details on both planes and ask plenty of questions. There are a lot of guys here that have flown both and would be more than happy to help out on your decision. Rob

None taken. I have seen both planes together and you cant compare the two. The build quality of the Aeroworks is unmatched. And if you need extra parts the are alot easier to get. The fact that the canopy is done for you is a small reason behind buying this plane.
