Default SAN DIEGO IMAC, Feb 14-15

Just a friendly reminder that the San Diego IMAC is on for Feb 14-15.
The field has been cleaned and groomed after the terrible flooddings we had last month, and is now contest ready.

Please sign up HERE

For those of you making the trip to San Diego, here are a few hotels to help you with.

The first two, Days Inn and EZ 8 are the cheapest and you will be about 2.5 miles away from the field.
The Best Western is right across the freeway from the field, about 1/2 mile away.
If you want something a little more upscale, and you want to be in the middle of town, the Doubletree is right in the heart of Mission Valley, and there's lots of restaurants and night life.
Prices do not include taxes.

Days Inn San Diego - $46.74

Hi Tom, glad to see that you and Eric are planning to come down to San Diego. I've been playing with my Godfrey, and would like to get Eric's opinion on it.

However, the weather has taken a different route and we now have a threat of rain.
We will be looking at the weather closely, and making a decision on Tuesday as to whether the contest will go on or not. I'll keep you guys posted.

If for some reason we have to reschedule the event, we'll see you in Vegas. I believe the whole San Diego team is planning a trip up there.

Yep, it was a real shame. Tim only got to fly it for about 10 seconds. He posted about the incident on the IMAC web site.

See you soon.

Here's the original message from Tim that is posted on the IMAC website:

"All pilots signed up for the San Diego IMAC Feb 14-15 this is a general announcement.
Due to the rain that has fallen and the rain that they are predicting will fall on those two days we are going to cancel/reschedule this contest. The rain that has fallen flooded our road into the site and you would have to drive through water 2 feet or more deep.....muddy water. It may dry satisfactorily by Friday, .... however, the weather services are in unity predicting rain on both days of the contest. We think it unwise to ask people to come long distances at substantial expense to be disappointed. It is regretable and we apologize for this but, mother nature is more powerful and she reminds us on a regular basis.
On another note we will be putting up a contest for June at the Miramar RC flyers site and I know of many that will want to climb aboard for that one......last year was their first contest and it was outstanding.
Tim, Regional Director"

There will be another contest in San Diego, at Miramar and you can sign up for it HERE.
