Wow, i cant believe it. Some of you guys are way under 15.5 lbs with 40-55 cc gassers. I have the bare minimums in my plane and its 15.5 with BME 50 w/pitts muff. Mabey my scale has gone screwy. Or mine was made with excess glue LOL. Thats ussually not the case. Flys great though and harriers all over the place effortlesly. I usually fly it slow on the verge of stall. It recovers very quickly from stall too. Another wierd thing is when i do an elevator manuever, not the tail parts, I almost cant get it to come down, even with full up elevator and throttle at idle. the plane floats forever. With some throttle it settles in for a downward hover nicely. I just purchased a new H9 35% 260. Should be here tuesday the 16th. I hope it shares some of the same characteristics.

My extra is slowly getting heavier. I added a (5oz)spinner to the front, because I did not like the prop clearence without. I am going to added another (3.5oz)LiIon and change the switch to a (17g)wolverine. The servos are taxing my little TBM 2600 LiIon. I noticed I only have about 1600amps useable capacity. After that, the control surfaces start to wiggle at 6.9 under a 1.5amp load.

For your sake I hope it does not
I made the jump from the 27% to a 102" QQ yak. The 260 flies well for it's size but, it is not anything like my 100cc yak. The yak is insane! So insane I am going to do my darnedest to jump another 20" and get a 40% next year

Do not use JR 8231 servos per manual recommendations. They stripped like dancers at a gentlemen's club shortly after takeoff.

Hey hillmanr2 I have a Moki 1.80 I was thinking about putting in this plane. Did you mount your 2.10 horizontal and does it clear the cowl ?

Anybody out there flying one with an OS 160? Thats what got in mine, hopefully maiden on weekend.
The cg is set at 4 3/4 inchs, the fwd limit, I like to be nose heavy for starters. Has any body got feed back on how it flys with this cg?
Had to add weight to the nose, but thems the breaks with a light engine, hopefully will remove some after time, AUW came out at a bit under 13 lbs. If its no good I'll get a DL50 and put it in. I'm pretty confident tho the os 160 will haul.

The link that failed is the one that screws onto the control horn screw that goes through the control surface. The supplied screws that come with them are too short. Save your self some trouble and replace them with longer screws and a lock nut on the outside. I had mine set up with a DA 50, Menz 22-8 prop, Hi-tec 5945's all around except the throttle and choke. If you use the DA 50 make sure that you use the back position for the rudder servo, that will make the plane much easier to balance. Without a spinner on it it balanced without any added weight. My spinner was not in yet. I would have been able to balance with the spinner, by just moving my receiver back.

Hope this helps.
I had the EXACT same thing happen to me this past December with the same airplane, aileron and factory molded swivel link! Yes the screws are too short and do not fully engage the threads on the square nut. A person either needs to apply JB Weld into the lock nut or find longer screws. Mine made one left hand turn on its maiden flight and then an aileron went into a massive flutter. I ended up wrestling it into a tree inverted and then it fell to the ground. HOWEVER I sent Horizon Hobby a letter and the damaged parts (wings complete w/stripped out servos, wing tube, and (1) wheel pant). Those amazingly were the only parts I damaged! I had popped some glue joints loose on the fuselage but I simply had to re-glue them. Horizon Hobby sent me a completely NEW kit and are as we speak repairing my aileron servos. Anyone flying these type Hangar 9 connections on their other kits need to take action to secure them.

had this plane w/ many flights on these links and hardware. I "red" locktite everytype of these connections on any plane down from the word go. On any gas or glow plane if it doesen't have some sort of locknut or locktite. Vibration can and will eventually loosen any bolt.
