Noob question: Why go soft?

I'm finishing putting together a Focus II ARC that's been sitting in my basement for 2+ years. I'm wondering if it's really worth buying a soft mount for my OS 160 motor. I'm using a Herber tuned pipe.

Pros: less vibration in airframe, servos should (theoretically) last longer
Cons: $$$
potential for header to crack/break.
more complicated to set up
heavier

Anything else? At this point I'm leaning toward a hard mount.

do it! the vibration from NOT having one will rattle your airframe and give you all sorts of possible rf noise issues. they are a lot of money (for a mount) but so is a new airframe!

your setup will last much longer and receive less stress with the soft mount. these pattern planes just don't weigh very much and they take the vibration of big (when put in perspective) and powerful engines. give your airframe a fighting chance and put the soft mount on.....

Correct me if I am wrong, but I also believe it helps protect your motor's bearings in case of a prop strike.

Also vibration like you mention is one big reason why people use soft mounts.
