A friend from my field gave me a profile that he flew and when it came to putting my .61 fx on it the holes don't match up. There are a bunch of holes in it already and don't know what I should do. If anybody could help that would be awesome. Here are some pics.

Hello Julian
I think first I would get a hardwood dowel the same size as the drill holes and exopy them in to fill the holes. Perhaps face the left and right sides with some light ply, maybe 1/32" and again epoxy it in. Paint the ply to match the color of the plane (Orange ?) Mount the .61FX Fly Ernie |

Ok I will try that. I wasn't sure really what to do without weakening the wood.
Thanks for the help, Julian

I think that you might try removing some material from the top and bottom of the motor opening and replacing it with new hardwood rails (mounts). Then laminate that with some thin ply. It looks like the motor mount opening may have been too large. If you do this be sure to keep your thrust line true. Dowels work well also but maybe not on the edge of the wood as in the pics.

That sounds like it would hold up better than the dowels. The old holes and the new ones are going to be so close together it seems that when I go to drill the new ones, the drill might want to veer towards the dowels. Plus with all the holes I'm also afraid it would crack where it was weak. I think I might try replacing the wood intead like you said wilson.
Thanks, Julian
