I'm ordering Aurora 9 tomorrow . As I have several electrics, till 70", and all of those are flying on one pack.
Tail landing is not fun thing .

By the way what is maximum voltage at that case ?

What is the cut off date for the free receiver?
Is the cut off date for the purchased by date, or submitted by date?

Manual says 35V.

I wasn't trying the Battery/channel 7 port when I did my testing so I have to go back tonight and try it that way. Maybe that channel is "special" and will power the Rx. I will report back if I am a dumb-ass.

The B/7 slot is no different... You can plug the servo battery into any channel.

Many thanks to those of you who have the Aurora 9 and have written detailed reviews. I have a 9Z with FAAST module and switch modules often to use my old 72MHZ rx's. I am safe at my home field as no one else is flying on my channel. I would only use 2.4 if I was visiting another field. What a fabulous add to our hobby 2.4 technology is.

So, I can see no reason for me to abandon my old 9z for an Aurora 9......... well, other than price, function, speed, rx price & customer support.

I love the idea of trim in flight for the exact function Tom was talking about. If I understand correctly, you can put the trim function on a switch. Then, once you have it the way you want it, just turn off the switch to avoid accidental changes. Then, once you land you could just change the switch to null if you wanted and it would keep the mix the same?

Also, I don't have idle down function on my 9Z. I program different idle rates for flying and landing as do most, especially on my gas stuff. Does idle down work like that or is there something else. Could not find a manual on line.

Sigh..... First "Late September", then "Mid October", then "Late October", then "Mid November" now "Early December" on my backorder at Advantage. TBM had the 7 channel for a few days in October. It would have cost me $30 more than Advantage so I waited.

Haha I got 6 DX7 receivers and I'll still use my DX7 for the small electrics, gliders and foamies. But the 30% YAk and sport stik will get the new radio...

I have honestly had really good luck with my dx-7, but I have never warmed up to it's programming or its "feel"..

I always had good relations with the Hitec people and still pretty much use their servos exclusively (except for teeny tiny things) and after handling an Aurora, and getting to "push a few buttons" so to speak, I just want one..I tried an SG-10, but did not care for it as much as my DX-7.

Maybe I can find some pics of Mayberry doing illegal things with farm animals and hold him out for a new tranny and some receivers to try out! hahahah

I sold my X9303, and a couple of receivers and paid for the A9. I still need a 9 channel receiver for my giant scale stuff. The two free/cheap 7 channel Rx's will cover all my park flyer stuff. In the spring when the micro receivers show up I need about 3 of those but I still have at least that many Spektrum receivers to sell.

For me the swap cost next to nothing.

Birdie:

Hey, long time no see, how's it going?

More to the point, $449 will get you the transmitter and 3 7 channel receivers. $479 will get you a 9 channel plus 2 7 channels. How many receivers do you actually need?

I was able to replace my Futaba 12FG/2x6014fs/1x6008hs with the A9/3x 7 channel/1x 9 channel and I ended up making $700 on the deal.
