Like all modelers we are not halfway through our current project or projects and everything gets pushed apart for a new project.
Well this time I made special time to complete a Krill 33% katana for one of our sponsored pilots. With the help of some of our suppliers we managed to get this baby for Ido Segev to fly at the Extreme flight championships. Since he needs the plane in a hurry I should have this one done by this weekend or a few days later. So here are some pictures to wet the appetite. The plane is of very high quality and the paint in the mold is outstanding. Krill really have a great line of planes. |

Hi
We have a holiday in Israel so I should get 80% done by tommorrow night. I have some more pictures but I will post some everyday as I do not have a lot of time to sit on the computer. The next pictures show me fitting the cowl. Krill has a great construction manual on cd but like normal I add and change things as I go along. Most modellers love Shiney Carbon so I like to please and add carbon on as many parts as I can. I marked the cowl and only needed to take 3 mm off from the inside seam to get it to fit flush. I am sure I did not even have to do this but I like things perfect. Ivo from Krill does most of the work on his kits so they biuld really fast and accurate. No quessing involved with his kits. After trimming the cowl I marked the holes for fitting and drilled them. I dipped 3 mm bolts in liqued wax and then screwed blind nuts in from behind teeth to the outside. This gives good grip to the epoxy and gives a bigger area for pressure to the bolt. I then used 3M 460 epoxy mixed with some micro ballons to stop it from running to glue the blindnuts. |

Some more pictures.
As you can see the inside is really well finished and the silver fibertglass gives a very nice look. The support in the tail is Davinicell with fiberglass light and strong. The plane has a lot off access so working is a pleasure. I will post some more pics tomorrow. |
