Have you tried your local ACE hardware. That is where I get mine.(elmers) Not sure if all ACE stock the same general items.

Just a note on the side sheeting. This will be for the future for you and a caution and hopefully help others.

It is a VERY good idea to pre sand the sheeting before you put it on the fuse or wings or anything else. This will knock down any glue ridges as well as smooth the lines from any variation in sheeting thicknesses. Once the sheeting is on the fuse, the open bays behind the sheeting will make it almost futile to get them smooth. You may want to get a blank t-sander INSIDE the sheeting so you can hold it flat from the inside while you sand on the outside. This will help you knock down any lines so they will not show through the covering.

This is not a knock, just a lesson learned from many builds. I noticed the glue lines in your one picture and wanted to help you get a finish to go with the nice work you are doing. It looks like you used regular titebond to edge glue the sheeting. It will sand a little harder than the wood. White glue works great for edge gluing. I even run a bead of it on the edge of any joint that will be directly under the covering. That way I am more able to hide the seam under the film. I have gone as far as to mark caps the will go over foam, spread poly glue out to within 3/16 of the edge and then run a rim of white glue on the exposed seam. Press it in place, wipe off any squeeze out and tape or clamp as required. The white glue sets faster and will contain any foaming of the poly while leaving you with an easy to sand edge.

Keep up the good work.

Jim Thanks for the reply I know I was in a hurry to sheet it I used Titebond II glue. I have purchases white glue now. I glued the stab sheeting with it and will sand before sheeting. Thanks for the heads up.

I have found the Elmers Ultimate glue local hardware store.

I do have a question about the phlenolic hole in the foam stab is about 7" deep the phlenolic to glue in is about 5.75 " do I do anything special here fill with glue etc?

The hole is about an inch to long but I wouldn't do anything crazy to fill the hole in cause the servo box starts about 6 3/8 from the root to the edge of the box, which is about 7 1/2 to the center of the box so you'll cut some of that out so just make sure you put both phenolics in the same amount. Well I got the sheeting glued on and sanded tonight leading and trailing edges tomorrow. Will start on the hatch as well as glue the sheeting together for the rudder. This is the first time I used Gorilla glue or Elmers Utlimate I really like it so far I always used formula II epoxy for sheeting

Post pictures tomorrow.

Was wondering, your turtle deck is glued on now and your going to build your canopy hatch, the front of the hatch has to fit and match the shape of the top portion of the cowl when the sheeting is finished.

Are you mounting your cowl first to make sure that the front canopy hatch former that goes against the cowl fits the shape of the top of the cowl properly first ?
