Default What would you ask for if you could spec your own 50cc plane?

KnoxHobbies is currently in the design phase of its newest 50cc line of airframes and we want you to have a say from the beginning. As we always have we value and apply the input into our builds. So build and fly your 50cc dreams.. time to weight in on all aspects colors weights ans stuff. So show the FG intel and let the ideas roll.. Lets build planes!

Find an engineer to help with the design.... If you can engage an Aero-Engineer with RC Background... there is much to be gained as far as an efficient and light weight structure....

My vote...

Oreck Cyclone

We're talking RTF weight, not just the bare airframe... Now if you could supply an airframe in the 85"+ wingspan RTF under 11lbs...

ANY OF THESE!
Adjust the airframe to make them fly better... but make DIFFERENT CHOICES!

OH.. also simple schemes... ARF's NEED personalization.. if they have cluttered color schemes, it's hard to personalize them.

Sleepy, I think you hit it, a 50cc Laser 200 ARF/ARC would be a great idea cause that one hasnt been arf'd yet. And it lends itself to being a really light airframe aswell, naturally. I bet even an overbuilt Arf could be in the 12-13 lb range.
But I still say GeeBee R3 in the neighborhood of 15lbs depending on WS/% . But the 2 models I have seen are Beaut's for sure. Of course JMO.

It's still a cool design regardless if a real one will ever exist someday.

I was thinking of 85" in bare airframe weight and around 1400 Squares?

Your absolutely right, no such full scale ever existed, Ive read up on the story of it from the original Italian designer Mirco to the stolen design and the German built composite version, Donut models rights to model, Hobby lobby being the only distibutor with the rights. But Mirco, Donut Hobbies, and Hobby Lobby call it the GEEBEE R3, so will I and even though it was one mans fantasy, why cant it be mine too...lol If the Kimbles actually build it, then there will be a full scale version. Google is a wonderful thing.
