I just looked on your site and saw your Pitts. What is the all up weight with a 50?

CJ-
As the website show the 50cc pitts is at 8.37 lbs confirmed, but we have made some modifications to them that will make them lighter buy stronger as well.. KH will have them in our hands soon but we do not quote weights until we confirm them for ourselves.

As to the all up weight it is depending on your equipment selection for completion of the craft.

The new 50cc "s" GRPro engine (3.44 lbs all up) from KH and my partner Delta RC Engine are going to be a great HP to weight ratio for the Small Pitts. Also for a really cool look and sound I choose the 50cc Twin in mine not to mention twice the smoke!

I do know for a fact that Red Bull has been cracking down on the Graphic guys lately and this might be a hard find these days.

That's why I gave a few pictures without the graphics. Just put down the main scheme and leave the graphics to the customer.

Ya, it's getting tough. ORACLE did the same for a while with the Challenger II (Sean Tucker's Pitts) models. They made a big stink about ORACLE vinyl being offered with the kits or going on anything - I think I remember BME having to just offer the Challenger in solid red and people having the Die-Cuts made later. Now they don't care as much and maybe realize that the free marketing to a bunch of plane crazed enthusiasts is worth it... hopefully someday RedBull will pick up on this.

All-

I thank you for all the input and it has been recorded and we are kicking around some options..

As to the plans on the board now: I know the YAK has been done to death (some good and some bad) but we wanted to take a stab at one also..

How about 85" / 10.02 lbs airframe ready for gear / 1650 + sq? / CF tubes / pocket hinging?

What would this do for the market?

Maybe, if it's a Yak 55. If it's a Yak 54, forget it. Everybody and their mother has a Yak 54...

Remember, the Yak 54 is produced in a 50cc size by:

Extreme Flight
Hanger9
QQ Aircraft
Aeroworks
Thunder Tiger
Magic Hand
Pilot RC
East RC
Great Planes
Aerotech
Nitro Models
Ultra RC
Cyclone Technology
Seagull Models
Wildhare RC (now out of production)

That's all that I can think of at this time, there are probably more,,,,

I am sure a 2 place YAk 55 is no major job to create + the extra side force would be nice..

If you really think you can convince people that your unproven Yak is better than the 15 proven ones, I'm not going to stop you. However, I would enjoy seeing one of these:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Yakov...55M/1107105/L/

There aren't many companies that have come out with one of these. The most notable would be Bill Hempel's 50% and DawghouseRC's 50cc.

I would love to see a christen eagle. There just are not many out there, especially 50cc to 100cc sized. Id appreciate an option in feather coloring, maybe fade dark to light blue, red, green, etc. I am building a magic hand yak and I love how they have their cowl mounted. No external screws, all internal through the fuse, just get to them by taking of wings and removing hatch. Definately a need for planes that have top notch hardware included, no junk. We do not need to go spending more money on top of a $600+ airframe.

Please no more red, white and blue schemes. Maybe a castrol scheme without the words castrol on an edge, sukhoi, or yakk 55 (like composite arf, not the yak 55M). I like what Pilot rc is doing in regards to including the whole CF package including spinner. Just throw a sullivan giant tail wheel in and be done with it. Going towards a quick build would be nice, servo holes cut out in wings and fuse, high prefabrication.

The laser has been wiped off the map, and I for one would LOVE to see another. Just no more extra 300 or 330, yak 54, or edge 540T arfs please!!!! Maybe a cap 580 that isnt the great planes, or a bipe with 4 piece wing for us who hate transporting 1 piece wings. And no flying wires if possible. I know thats strict, but lately I have been seeing bipes without the flyin wires.

Finally, I think it would be nice to have planes, especially in the 30%er range, to have the ability to have the rudder servo mount to accept a quarter scale servo. I know that has dissapointed me in a few planes. Oh yes, and no stringers in the bottom of the fuse. I have a plane I bought pre-built from a guy by the name of Don Held. It is fantastic, and the entire bottom is foam sheeted so that you can pick up the plane from underneath with no worries of snapping every stringer in there. I would buy a plane for that reason alone.

Respectfully, I say that all the great companies you have listed had to start somewhere and I want to say that KH will make the differences in our interaction with our customer as well as our service. Any one can sell an ARF but it is what you do after the sale is what makes the differences. I hope that the public is ready for a very dependable lightweight airframe with some great support and will allow us to stir things up a little..

Respectfully, I was under your impression that you wanted our opinion for you to design a better product. In this thread, three folks(myself, SleepyC and Rcbirk21) have written to discourage you from coming out with, yet another, Yak 54. Also, Unbalanced seems to have an unfavorable opinion of that idea as well. Nobody has written that they wanted a Yak 54. Several folks have wanted a Yak 55.(whether it's an M, or SPM, I dunno) There have been request for a GeeBee R3, MXS, Laser, Christen Eagle, etc.

KnoxHobbies is currently in the design phase of its newest 50cc line of airframes and we want you to have a say from the beginning. As we always have we value and apply the input into our builds. So build and fly your 50cc dreams.. time to weight in on all aspects colors weights ans stuff. So show the FG intel and let the ideas roll.. Lets build planes!
I don't mean to come across as flaming you, or your company. Far from it. I'm just trying to help you understand that the market is falling out on the Yak 54. It was the flavor of the year for a couple years. It was the most popular plane after QQ flew it at the TOC, but after a few years, the supply of 50cc Yak 54's has drastically increased. And people are starting to have their fill.

Just my unprofessional opinion. With this being said, I hope you have a successful release of your Yak 54.

Sincerely,
Christopher Todd
