Default Re: 60% BH EXTRA, HOW BIG IS TOO BIG ?

I think the fact that this plane is under 100 lbs takes the blurred line of full scale and model away.
A full scale plane is 1500+ lbs... This one is under 100.
Way different strengths in materials needed.

i second that motion! i need the car business to pick up as well. the market is reflecting a pick up that hasn't happened as of yet by having the wholesale values go up about $2000 a car in the last 30 days! that doesn't make our lives any easier when the retail amounts have stayed the same!!!! i am literally paying more now for a vehicle on the wholesale side than i was retail selling that same rig for a month ago!!!! NOT GOOD!

Mike, I thought about the Seikos say 2 per aileron, 1 per elevator and 2 on the rudder but instead I went with the reliable and proven JR system, I have 3 planes with Seikos on the rudder with no issues but never seen them used anywhere else.

Elie , I worked on a RPV project and used them everywhere , loved it , and plenty of power on the RPV with a 200lb payload ..used an Odyssey Battery for power ...

Is it enough to rely on the name of a brand that has excellent products designed for lesser size models? Lets face it yours blurs the line between full size and model doesnt it? Looks like you have quite a bit of bare studding distance between the rudder and ball link connection and thats where it will stress most. You could sheath the bare studding in CF tube filled with epoxy or replace the stud with the same dia but using HTS (easiest option) just like the hex bolts used for ball links which are the same high grade shear resistant material and not some malleable low grade CS. Dont mean to make you edgy on this. Guess we are all eager to see this project come off flawlessly as you are and would hate to have sat here thinking what i mentioned but not have said if the worse situ happened ya know?
HTS studding wont add weight to any degree but it sure would be a fit and forget solution.
Full threaded hex bolts of the same size as the studding cut down would be perfect. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious
shyte, thanks for the advice, I will try to locate HTS rod to use, not a big deal to replace it, I think the weak link is the dowel, a friend even recommended 2 dowels with 2 servos on One and 3 on the other, I will say this I am not going to fly this plane the way have flown others, I plan to be safe and easy on the plane, at least at the beginning, I will give it the old fashion test on the ground before I test fly, better to brake on the ground than in the air.

Phxsparky, believe me I respect that plane and it's limits, this is no 40% and I know my responsibility, I will be smooth and easy on the sticks until I know the plane
