call up horizon and ask. did you say all your servos were getting warm?

I just lost 2 5955 on our 50% rudder they were programmed and just sitting there with 5.1v going to them no binding, after about 3 min. one started to smoke and burned out a hole in the bottom of the casing!! Luckly they are still under warranty and already on the way to Hitech for repair. why ? I dunno?? Anybody?? bad servo??? bad me???

Eli the royal will do this at start up and can last up to a minute. If It is not seeing your receivers than this can cause the 9.99 also. This is not the true regulated voltage. I had the same problem then once i got the receivers set up with the proper fail safe when it turned on it would read 9.99 then less than 30sec it would go to its set voltage.. I do not know if this helps.

Slayer, I have had close to 50 8711 servos in 4 different airplanes, Slick, Dalton, Fiddy Cub and the 60% so far no issues until now, most likely I screwed up somewhere, but I have no doubt Horizon will replace it for me.

Showtime, that gives me hope that maybe it's a programming issue, I will keep messing with it, hopefully I will get it right, thanks.

I think I got it, everything is working fine, no more 9.99 volts and both receiver highlighted and working at 100% or close to it now I need the prop thanks to all that helped.

No 60% this weekend as I don't have any props yet, not much left to do, I will go over the covering and see if I can find something else to do while I anxiously wait the props, I am optimistic for next weekend.
