That's awesome, thanks for posting the videos, the ZDZ 420 should have plenty of power to do what this 60% was doing, anyway my 3W 342 self destructed, threw a crank roller bearing and destroyed the motor after 18 flights, looks like it needs pistons, rings and a roller bearing, maybe the cylinders can be saved, not sure how much more damage, supposedly I bought it new from a second party and when asked about if it will break down and warranty, I was told I would be taking care off, well it looks like I am on my own, anyway I have the ZDZ 420 which will go in the 60% soon, too busy now. I learned my lesson and will only buy stuff new and under warranty.

Evening Ellie.
Phil Griffin here. You may not remember, but I spoke with you some time ago about a scammer by the name of Tim Couto. Well guess what? He has contacted me via the "Trader Talk" forum over on RCG & says he wants to mend his ways and he plans to return my money... Miracles never cease. Thought you might like to know..

Wow... is it me or does the 60 center look to float like a foamie even at 125lbs? That's NUTS!

GOD I want a Hempel plane BAD.... just not sure which one and how I'm gonna pay for it yet. I had decided on a Yak but lately I've been thinking about a Decathlon... I dunno.

Elie that sucks, that 420 will be awesome choice for the 60%. Now you'll really be able to work that plane

Having seen the 60% perform at Joe Nall with the ZDZ 420, and now looking at this one with the 684cc engine, it seems that there is better vertical performance with the ZDZ. The 3W engine is rated at 60 hp, but from my experience with 3W, (I've had more than 20 different 3W engines), they are overrated when it comes to hp. They do not have the claimed hp. They run great, but are not as strong as you should expect. Elies 342 is a good excample of this. I'm glad he's got a ZDZ now, because he will fly this 60% like a 40%, and that will be something to watch.

I hope Bill Hemple makes more of theese 60's, cause a company in Norway wants to buy one for me to fly for them. So if he makes a 60% Edge, and maybe builds it lighter, like the Gen 2 50% Edge, it will perform well, also with a ZDZ 320cc.

Start building some planes, Bill

Or maybe a 58% Edge or something just a bit smaller. A super size airplane that will give the performance needed for the 342?

Thinking...

Hello Jim.
I couldn't come to the Huckfest, because I've had surgery to my back. I'm still recovering, and I'm going to need two more operations before they're done.
I would love to go, and I was kinda mad that I didn't, but like Elie said to me on the phone; there is allways next year.

So how are you? Are your planes still in one piece? Thanks for letting me fly the Slick at Joe Nall. I really had a good time there. Heidi, my fiance, says that I need to make a choice between Joe Nall or the Huckfrest next year, so I guess I'll go for the Huckfest. There are no booty girls at the Nall

I have flown alot this summer, with my 47% Edge 540, and now the deer hunting season starts in two weeks. So I'll be out in the woods for a couple of months The savage in me comes alive quickly.

Hope you and your family are well, and please say hello from me, to everyone I know, when you meet them

I was wondering myself that the 684 didn't have as much pull as the 420 but again maybe he didn't want to push the plane and was never WOT, I wonder though!!
The 342 is not the motor for the 60%, I plan to fix it and maybe put in a 58% Decathlon or the 60% Cub.

Here is my opinion, we have the data and shouldn't be hard to come up with a size, we need a x% size plane that has vertical unlimited and be under 100 lbs with available motor and the motor suggestion could be 342 to 420.

Sorry to hear about the 342...

Anyway, yeah, the ZDZ 420 should be even better than the 3W 684. Being lighter, it may yield an even better power to weight ratio!
