AR9100 on straight 2S lipo.

Just plug in an extension from the data/bind port, and at the end of the flight, plug the flight log BEFORE turning off the receiver. It'll give you all the info you want: voltages, drops / antennae, fades, as well as holds.

You can also use it for pre-flight range check, but if you do, make sure that you have CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT (i.e, don't block it with your body as I did when walking away from the plane). Otherwise, I was getting 100+ drops because I was walking away with the TX in my body. Once I walked backwards as I'm depressing the bind button, then the drops go down to <10. That proves to be true also in the air.

Dude, I'm so sorry to hear it crashed! Got any pics?

I know the RX locked out on you but was there anything wrong with the fuse?

Sorry khedge . They all have dates on em it very bad so soon . I have been a JR guy for alot of years but still have not switched to 2.4 as of yet . To many problems for me . But I do not fly much at the larger clubs.

Sorry you lost the plane. I hate to see it happen to anyone.

I have to say that I view your power setup as minimal for the plane. This is my opinion. Those 2600 Li-ions have a max current rating of four amps right off the Fromeco site. Two of them would be 8. Flight loads on 9 7955 servos could exceed the battery rating. Not enough juice IMO. Each of those servos is likely able to pull 5 amps at stall as I understand they use the same motor as the 8711. The five amp stall figure is with 6 volts. Higher voltage in the same circuit will flow more. Just some thoughts that I hope help out in future setups.

thanks man, I will be use 5200 on the next one I build. But I have talked to mike at fromeco and ge said the 2600 are good for 10 amps and the 5200's are good for 22 amps. But mike is going to test my stuff out for me and I am going to send my servos off to hitec and have them checked out for any issues. I am going to keep an open mind on this and test everything out to see what caused the problem.

IMHO, your setup is adequate, especially since it looks like you lost it while flying level. One thing you can check also is that if there's a power outage, the receiver antennae will blink regularly (slower than the binding blink). With the 9100, I *know* that I have enough power when I plug 2 x 2S lipo in there since they can burst to 40A each .

I HOPE that this NEVER happens to you again, but if it does, NEVER turn anything off. Just walk to the crash with the flight log in hand. If the antennae aren't blinking, then power outage is not the problem. You can then plug the flight log, and get a diagnostic on what actually happened.

Thanks man, I was flying straight and level, I also had a fromeco DC-up installed too, I really doubt it was a power issue. I will see what horizon has to say tomorrow

Karl,

Sorry to hear plane went in. I know you spent a lot of time on it.

There has been a lot of crashes around here in the last week

Jason put his 100cc composite Extra in last Sunday
Another one of my friends crashed his 88" EF Extra Friday
I had a mid-air with another friend Saturday. It was two 100cc planes. I had 8 flights on mine and he had 4 flights on his.

For drawing lines it was Awesome. 3D was Ok. It didn't compare to a 88" EF 3Ding. It was stable but the rudder just didn't feel as solid as I would have liked.

Another thing you could do is to stuff the receiver in a trainer, and see whether or not you have any issues flying with it. That'll give you at least some peace of mind.
