Default My Comp Arf Yak

Finally pulled out my 3m comp - arf yak from the bags... i think it's about time to built it... i have a DA-170 and jr goodies waiting on the table...

This is a JR scheme with a color swap... i was a little worried about how the green and red might look but... i think it came out alright... how about you? (sorry for the low quality picture)

At first I didnt like it...but after looking at it...I started to like it more. Nice job..and at least its original. I am partial to the JR Scheme as my avitar shows. You are going to love this plane...keep it light..even with the 170. It can get heavy quickly...My original build got it close to 43 pounds, but I have made some significant changes (more simple setup) and it is closer to 39 pounds now. It is just an awesome flying plane...I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the welcome - back meloni. Afghanistan starts to grow on you after 8 months haha, it's good to be back though.

I too am partial to the JR scheme, i also like the castrol scheme.. i just mixed it together... i'll see what i can do to keep it light, i bought all the carbon fiber stuff (tubes and spinner) i'm not gonna run any powerboxes or regulators... just a 9100, 8711hv's and an 8717hv 3 batteries and 2 matchboxes... real simple setup...

You should only need 8 servos...that being said you should not need any matchboxes...with the 9100. I assume that you are using either a 12x or X9303. My fear with the matchbox is that you are running 2 servos off of one lead. Mine is setup with A123s and R1222...no regulators and no matchboxes.

I have 2 for the elevator 2 for the rudder and 4 for the wings.. and (1) 8717 on the throttle...This setup will be 7.4 volts to the servos... i have a 9303... This setup is similar setup to my Dalton that has worked flawlessly except for 7.4 volts... i regulate the dalton at 6.6volts.... now you have me thinking if the macthboxes can handle no regulators...

Is there a better way of doing this without a power expander? is the 9303 capable of centering and setting end points for 4 servos with no matchboxes? i still would like to use 4 servos in the wings... i've had a comp-arf flutter on a 2.6m with 1 servo per wing ...

You can do it with the 9303 but it will take a little more creativity and you will have to use program mixes.
