I have never flown the AW airplanes but I can say the Pilot-RC Yak is an absolutely wonderful 3D platform.

You have to order it that way, and its a little more than non CF option, but well worth it, even comes with an Azure CF spinner...Badass

Would you even consider ordering one w/o upgrades? I think it was roughly $50-$70 upgrade. Well worth it imo.

I think it would be tough to go wrong either way. AW is a little heavier, but they dont fly like it. Pilot RC has a lot of Extreme Flight RC blood in the product...so you know its going to be good. The new AW scheme is pretty cool and with Pilot RC you can get what ever scheme you want.

Only negatives I can pick on either...the AW Yak is flat on the sides where it exits the cowl. It is similar to a Carden Yak except the Carden has a round cowl and flat fuse. Pilot RC Yaks cowl has too small of an opening at the front. I have flown both (well the pilot RC was an SD Models plane but same difference) and they both fly great. Pilot RC will come out nearly 5 pounds less than the AW...but dont let that make your decision..in the air...its hard to tell the difference. AW is that good.

I like my AW 260's, but I saw Show871's Pilot 260 and was most definitely impressed. He took it to a second place finish in his first IMAC contest. Right out of the box the Pilot is lighter by a pound or so.
