I used psp Al mounts and they are very nice and light. I used 6mm * 105mm TItanium bolts with 29mm holed Ti washers. One leg weighted .38KG. The Red Al standoffs weighted 5.3 oz quite a difference. I tested my Reaper on 10s 4500 30c and saw i had only 29 volts min. I then tested GR85 on 12 s 2p 4500 30C EVO and saw 35 min volts and not very good RPM's. I then called Scott at reaper which BTW was on his vacation Thanks Scott. I have suppected battery problems on my EVO . I called Support for EVO and they thought my batteries were hold some resitance over my 1 year of flying or lest. I have some new Evo on order but wont come in till middle of month. I Thought might have a motor issue as well was not seeing Rpm put of the Reaper. After talking to Scott he told me to move timming from 19 to up to 22. I did change the timming to 21 and ran motor same error on spinn box Volts error. I temped the motor the GR85 after running 2 min and smoke came out and temp was 220ish. I will talk to Scott and send the motor back to Reaper . i have mounted my Hacker A100 and ordered 4 8s1p 2300 to test as 16s2p 4600 A123. I will order more batteries A123 to make a 6900 16 pack and prop down to a Vess 26C.

I decided to try A123 16S4p 9200 in my plane after reducing weight by taking out extra wood. I pulled out 11 onces of wood and still have a Super Gear CF gear that will save another 4 -6 onces. That all said I flew 2 test flights on A123 1100 RX packs and 8 8S1p for a 16S4p 9200 A123 Flight packs from Tanic. The A123 allthough heavy allmost 11 pounds worked very well. here are my stats after flight one and 2
42.3 Volts 198 amps @ 7360 Rpm with Mejzlik 27*12 Th prop. Battery Temp was 116 Avg for 8 packs on a 6 min flight time of mostly trimming plane out. used 64% of battery buy flying 3/4 to full on left stick. used avg of 1500 of 2300 * 8. second flight after 2 clicks of Elev and 2 clicks of Al 43 Volts 192 Amps @ 7340 RPM same prop on 7:30 flight but did 1 3/4 sequences of basic Imac. Temp 117. There are 2 AW 260 and AW yaks at my field that we weighted 29.13 and 29.4 pds with out fuel both running 32 oz tanks so with fuel around 31.5 to 32 pds . My plane weighted 32.10 AUW but turned a 27*12 7340 vs their 27*10 Th Mejzlik @ 6500-6600 Rpm. I was very impressed with the Power of the A100 Hacker even on allmost 33 pds . I have a 6900 8S3p A123 packs that will save allmost 2.5 pds and can also run 4 6S1p FP 5340 Lite Eon that will save 4.2 pds for 3D flying. Over all very pleased with the plane and Weight to power even with A123 @ 9200 and allmost 4 extra pounds I will shoot some pics and Vid next week I hope. |

I forgot to mention that after flying for 7:30 min and all most 2 Imac Basic sequences I only used 1600 out of each of the 8S1p 2300 packs so 6400 of 9200. This will be my Imac set up this year!

So given that you are running A123's, your weight s quite impressive. Would love to see some video of it flying!

Bodywerks, im waiting for the yellow version, but im really pumped to see how much a person could save by doing what you did to your 42% 260? I did it to my 100cc yak and wow what a difference!!! I thought i read somewhere that you put da 170 with da mufflers, how do you like it now?

It's sick. It's now a tad under or at 36 pounds I'm guessing, and it pulls about the same as the 150 on pipes, but with a more linear throttle feel, and I like the sound, even if it is loud. However, in the interest of preserving the future of IMAC, I may be throwing a set of RE3's on it. Power should be OK with that setup
![]() If it wasn't for concerns of thrust to weight, this plane flies just fine in the 29 pound range. There's no reason why one could not build this plane down to 26-27 pounds if one so desired.

Bodyworks is right. I talked to Mark at Aeroworks. He said with carbon tubes and a carbon tail wheel I could save 8 ounces. That would put my plane at 28 pounds 2 ounces. With some dremal work it would be very easy to get 27 pounds. Or less. But let me tell you guys this. It pops off the ground at 28/10, and is crazy on the up lines with a da-100. I'm at 780 feet above sea level.
