I would be careful about doing any snap maneuvers or 3D work with that plane after you have taken out all that wood from the center section. That wood served the purpose of proving strength in the center fuselage, were all the bending loads from the tail and shear loads from the wing are reacted.

i did the same thing and so have alot of others and the planes are holding up nice. the sides of the fuse are very robust. but i did strenthen mine just to make sure.

Probably a little late to answer your question, but aluminum is lighter than titanium. It can be used for washers and for bolts that aren't stressed that much.
