I now have 2 of these engines, and I cant get either one to run worth a damn! Is there a trick to tuning these? I have OS, Saito and Super Tigers and I haven't had any problems. I think it is in the low end. Not sure about the low end adjustment bar. It moves back and forth, not sure if thats my problem or not? By the way the manual reads it should stay still and I should be able to move it myself for slight adjustments.....someone please help!

These engines need a "HOT" plug to accelerate well. Like a OS #3
The needle valve limiters need to be removed or disabled |

Hi,
I have been running the same engine for almost a year. First thing to do, always run the recommended super plug in it...it is a two cycle, but runs a four cycle plug. Stick to what the manufacturer recommends..trust me, ive tried everything else. Next, Remove the limiter pins on the high and low speed needles. You will not get the thing running right without removing the limiter pins. After you remove them, tune it the same way you would with any engine. I just had to get mine replaced, as it broke the wrist pin at a fly in a few weeks ago. I spoke with someone at Horizon Hobby who owns Evolution Engines, and they suggested I send it back to them. They looked at it and said it had to be a defect in the metal, as it broke at idle. Long story short, they replaced it for me after Ive had it for about 9 months..so of course, I am very pleased with their customer support at this point. That engine will be one of the easiest to start and operate, if you will take the time to get it tuned properly. Go back to the engine manual, and it will show you where the limiters are. TonyG |

hi always set the top end first--pinch the fuel line -the engine will run up to max RPMS it can -set the engine 2-300 RPMS below that sound-(RICHEN 2-3 CLICKS )-when set correctly the engine should run up slightly when the fuel line is pinched closed for a short time (engine will run out of fuel -after the RPMS climb )--if the engine dies when you pinch the fuel line--at first -- you are two lean---richen the needle valve and retest ( you are setting the engine rich to allow for the fuel to be used in the tank-which will lean the engine as it is used-preventing you from going lean-and dead sticking )
set the low end -the harder to set of the two settings--run the engine 500 -1000 RPMS above your idle speed-turn the low end needle in until the engine starts to run rough-back out the needle valve until the engine smooths out with the rpms still high may need to reset the top end as described above again--the engine is now tuned--top and bottom --handling glo engines for 26 years--this is by far the best two cycle engine tuning method you will find--ENJOY REGARDS TONY "the omega man " think pink ! !
