Zed the tower servos are probably made by hitec. The only difference is metal gears verses titanium gears. With the 60.00 club savings they would be a better deal. But Mithrandir didn't mention any discount on the hobbico servos so in his case I would rather go the route you did or go with the Hitec's. The noise you mentioned from your rudder servo on your other plane is probable no different then the noise guy's say they get with the Power HD metal gear servos, it's just the type of gear is what I think. Did you get your landing gear squared away yet.

These are titanium geared servos...says so right on top of them. The discount applies to anything I order not just the servos. I think I have come up with something but I won't know until tomorrow. The stabs are pretty much done and I need a couple more hours on the wings, then I'll start tackling the fuse with the gear being the main priority. I want to be able to work with the model standing on it's own and not having it roll around on me...

So they basically are Hitec servos only they can't be programed. Are you using two on the rudder

It's coming along slowly, I had to help my brother rebuild my old Extra that he's going to fly so I didn't have a lot of time to work on it today. I did sort of figure out a way to beef up the landing gear area but I hope it doesn't add too much weight. I am taking pics when I remember to but not step by step just on some of the completed steps and the finished product. I don't know if I'll be able to have it finished by the time I want to but I'll be close. There is a 3D fly-in next weekend that I would like to make with it but I just don't think I'll be finished in time.
My back is better but no where near 100%, if that's even possible...I can move the wrong way and it really hurts sometimes but I'll take that instead of the first three weeks when I was in nothing but unrelenting pain. I actually go back to the doctor for my follow up tomorrow and I got a feeling he may release me to go back to work on light duty so my building days are quite numbered and that's why I don't think I'll be finished by next weekend. I'll also lose tomorrow and most of Friday as I have to travel about 3hrs to get there and we are going to overnight it in a hotel.

How's the sukhoi coming Zed. I saw the pics.on how you reinforce the landing gear that you posted on my rcuniverse thread and it looks to be pretty stout to me. I surly hope Oliver stays in touch with us for some more ideas and where to get things like the air foil in the cowl he put in his.If he stays in touch I hope to find out if he found a carbon fiber wing tube. I'm going to get that carbon fiber landing gear from troy built models like he did. I was planing to do that any way now I don't have to spend any time trying to find one that will fit. I sure have to agree with him about the covering, now lets just hope they fly as good as they look. I also was planning, like I'm sure you already have, to change out all the hardware with good name brand stuff. One more think are you going to start a separate build thread or are you just going to post it all on this thread.

Almost, but the damn thing is really tail heavy so I didn't have it ready for the weekend. Right now she weighs 29lbs 4oz on my digital postage scale so I'll easily be over 30 when it's all said and done. If my brother comes down today (took off cause my back is hurting) I may try to put it all back together for pics...You may be surprised !!!
On another note I went out and flew my other plane and motor problems, along with a downwind landing that ended with a stall, put that one out of commission for awhile so I'll have to get this one ready if I want to fly anything more aerobatic than my old Super Stick that my brother has. Only thing I can really do with it is hover and torque roll it up high but it is a lot of fun...

Power distribution, I see it with my own eyes on how the servos react, plus I would have needed possibly four matchboxes so that's basiclly the price of a P/E...and Thanks !!!
