Fiji water bottles...was trying to save weight before i found out I needed a lot in the nose. Those two bottles weigh exactly the same as the stock tank but I believe they are each bigger...

On another note I maidened it today...flew great and leaped off the ground after about 8 ft and less than half throttle. Was definitely NOT a good day for a maiden flight. The wind was peaking at 26 mph out at our field and the longer I stayed up the harder it blew... That's probably why it only took about 8 ft to get airborne... I did get some video but I need to contract a new cameraman...most of it you spend looking for a plane or looking at the ground...LOL!!! The landing was a little scary for me because I didn't know if my landing gear mods would hold up under the weight. Every time I shot a landing ( about 6 times in all) the wind played havoc with me and I ended up either dropping to much or balloning and had to go around again. Even after touching the ground and a short rollout I eased on the elevator expecting the tail to drop to the ground but she just jumped back in the air and I had to hit the throttle and go around again, I bounced it one time before that....For 33 lbs it sure seemed to fly light...

I only made one flight as the wind was picking up more than what it already was (south Texas coastal weather)...

So far I'm happy with the flight performance as I thought the DL-100 would have had a hard time pulling it around but I often found myself throttling back especially on the downwind legs...now the weight I'm a little disappointed in because the flying weight advertised was 28 lbs and as it sits, a little on the tail-heavy side, I'm at close to or a little above 33 lbs dry weight...

For the Hangar 9 plane, It might refer to the designer " Mike McConville "

I'm at 32.5 lbs and still slightly tail heavy
Thats not even close to acceptable

Thats 5 lbs heavier than a quality ARF of the same size.

Yes I believe it to be true on this one Bob, but I have to say it was an interesting build nonetheless.

What a trud
It's listed as 33%...

EDIT: I just looked and I can't see where it was listed as 1/3 scale but for some reason that's what I've been telling everyone that asked about it...go figure...

Looks and sounds good...

What prop are you running on that 100???

I will try to edit the vid and post it up sometime this week but I'm still old school and don't have the new smaller USB HD cameras like most people have so it may take awhile for me to actually do it. Hell...I even have to find editing software. I'm still rockin the old miniDV...LOL!!!

I guess I could do that but I'd have to butcher the cowl and I would also have to move it out a good ways.
