I would use pressure treated they seem to stay straight. But someone should be able to plane those straight with a jointer. I use advantec flooring plywood it has a fifty year warrantee and is tongue and groove to join sheets together. my bench is 8x12 with outdoor carpet glued on top and has stayed arrow straight after two years of daily use at my glass shop.

I think that's what I'm going to do. Either get a long level or a piece of rectangular aluminum tubing from HD and rip it with my saw. I only need one side flat and that should be good enough. Get some good wood screws (which is something else I need to find I guess) and use the door as a reference.

i built a torsion box three/eights top/bottem with one quarter insides plywood, sanded on one side.later on i added one sixteenth sheet metal to the top. you can mount it on saw horses and it will stay flat and square. my two cents thank you.pd
