Default New field in Orchard Farm, MO

Our club, Orchard Farm RC (formerly St Peters Propnuts), has a new flying field after loosing our field in St Peters. We just planted grass, placed a storage container for the club mower and things, and just installed a gate. Here is a picture of the new site. Many exciting things to come.

There is not a waiting list to get into Orchard Farm RC. We are hoping the grass will be up enough to begin flying at the end of June. With the rain we have been getting lately, it should help the grass along. The new flying area is huge. We have nine acres for the field, flight line and misc. Plus the field is then surrounded by a lot of farm ground.
The new field is located off of Hwy 94 north and Hwy V behind the Orchard Farm High School on Marris Becket Rd.
To get to the site take I-70 to 370 and 370 to Hwy 94 at the Hwy 94 exit go north on Hwy 94 to Hwy V (about 7 mi, turn left on Hwy V go about 3/4 mi make a right on Marris Becket RD. go about 3/4 mi. the site is on the right.

We are hoping it will be ready by the end of June. The rain we have had lately has really shot the grass up. I'm going out tomorrow to get some new pics.

I haven't been out for several days. Five of the ten footers for the pavilion have been poured. They were going to pour the other five yesterday, but we got too much rain. I'm going to get ou to the field tomorrow or Wed and get some pictures. I also setup my avistar with a video camera and I'm going to try and get some aerial video of the field. We have our club meeting this Thursday, so I will have more info after that.

Here are some updated pics of the field plus a quick aerial video. As you can see there are a lot of weeds since it was a farmers field. There are a lot of corn stalks as well. Christy, the club's treasurer, has been out there raking up corn stalks. She could sure use some help.

There will be spectator parking and pilot parking. Of course the pilots will park up along the flight line and spectators will park in the grass facing the road.
