Default Extra 260 vs Extra 300

Hello Everyone,

After many years in and out of the hobby I finally decided IT'S TIME. For my 1st Gasser. I have been flying off/on for about 20 years now but never really had the money to own or justify a gas powered plane. I see that many have jumped onto the Yak bandwagon, however I still like lines and the cowling on the Extras. I have been looking closely at the differences of various vendors models between the 260s and the 300s. In most all cases, I see the difference in the control surfaces of he tail feathers and a longer canopy (2 seater perhaps). Is there a difference in flying characteristics/behavior between the 2 while performing 3D manuevers? I have played with them both in flight sims but limited simulator physics probably does not do them justice compared to actually rc piloting 30% and up Gas Models.
I am hoping Tony from Pilot-RC can chime in on this next question. I have been watching Pilot-RCs sales go nuts since its start up to the point they are now out of stock on the 50CC Extras. Congratulations, it must be a great feeling to be a start up company and have such high demand/recommendation on your products. I noticed the weight of the 30% Extra 260 and 300 is almost 2lbs? However, I noticed on a couple of build threads on the 300 they anticipated coming in around 15.5 to 15.8lbs on the CF version of the 300. I am leaning toward the 300 but like many, I agree on keeping weight down as much as possible. Thanks for help/recommendations in advance.
