Alot of 50cc airplanes can go with 130oz servos for mildly extreme flying. When I have tested and switched to 200 (+) oz servos they tend to feel the same in the air under most cirumstances. Metal gears and aluminum servo arms are the two biggest things in my mind. I have an older gentlemen that set his 50cc yak up with Tower Hobbies HD servos and HD plastic arms...I cringe everytime I see it fly but you know, he has beat that plane up and never had a servo fail or control surface issue, I still don't suggest this though.
Engines, well DA will be around for service later on, DL and 3MM are good chinese makes and the 3MM does have very good quality control from the ones I distributed. I just am not sure all these lines can hang on for the long haul with a new company being announced everyday just about. Tends to make keeping parts expensive in the long run.. Airframes are down price wise at alot of places, so check around. I have the one for 499.99 shipped right now and I know others are still promoting sale prices. I know hobby shops right now may want to move out Higer priced items to get the cash flow so better deals with them might be had with some old fashion dickering. Maybe just walk in with cash in hand (I mean in visible sight in hand) and say well this is what I got. Good luck

I bought my Extreme Flight 50cc Extra from my LHS fresh off the truck for $689 out the door. Just cause some paid nearly $800 just means some didn't look hard enough for a bargain. I think it'll be fine with 180 in-oz. servos. The manual calls for 200. If indoubt, I'd call them up down there and talk to Chris or Curtis. Around here opinions are like...
...elbows. Everyone's got two or three. 8-)

Great! When you call to order I'll be happy to discuss batteries with you, but to make a long story short the A123 lithium is the way to go.
If you don't get an answer Monday please leave a message, we will be unloading a container of planes and will be out for a while. TF |
