Default Re: frame loss issues

I've been flying with JR/Spektrum receivers for over 2 years. I've used AR-7000, JR-921 and AR-9100. I've used pre-update and post-update, and I usually check my flight logger several times on a new installation.

Normal performance is less than a hundred fades and 0 frame losses. The absolute worst I have ever seen is 2 frame losses in 1 flight. I have never seen a hold or experienced a loss of control.

If you are getting 450 frame losses you will experience some loss of control. A hold means the receiver has seen missed 45 frames in a row and gone into fail-safe. But if you miss, say, 30 frames in a row you will have lost control for a second or so without getting a hold.

Missing a frame means the receiver does not have a new position for the servos so it just stays at the old position. It's only after being in this condition for approximately 1.5 seconds that it takes action to go to the fail-safe position.

So you need to get yor frame loss numbers down to zero before flying that setup again.

precisely, i was making a wide bank turn and just stayed even thou i was yankin desperately on the stick. I already took the setup apart so cant take pics but i have all 3 antennas (one onboard the RX the other remote) on different axis and way farther than 4'' for sure, not close to any dense material also....
this not first time, had another issue on another model with AR7000, but never came back, I had nuff altitude that allowed me to turn the TX off/on and this re-established....

this sort stuff just kills your confidence thou...I mean after 50 flights with no changes to setup at all, I mean what the heck??

The flight log showed 430 frame loses but no holds?? hell if that wasnt a hold I dont know what is. did range check after and was all good

anywayys sent the RX back to Horizon, not about to lose a $2000 bird with this nonsense.....has been working ok for 50 flights, voltage was 6+ on RX batteries
You should send your transmitter in with all your receivers as well to have them checked, including any satellite receivers. If you don't have everything checked, then you are just chasing the problem.

I have the X9303 2.4 and fly 3 gassers with R921 receivers, one foamie w/ Spektrum AR6000 and a BNF Blade heli with zero problems. I also found that turning my tx antennae up at a 90 deg angle greatly reduced the fades, instead of leaving it straight out.

Something is giving you problems. Check all battery packs, regs, switches and all extensions and connections in between.

Good luck.

Nothing may have changed on your plane but what changed in the air? 2.4 can be jammed. Spektrum uses 2 freqs but like any other 2.4 out there the band it operates on isn't as wide as the 72mhz band. Was anyone using a 2.4 camera that day? Or on a Wifi network near by? Was a news chopper around?

It could also be just plain dumb luck, you turned the plane and it hit the perfect angle from you to the TX to blind itself from all antennas.

No system is immune to problems.

Glad you sent in the RX though because maybe it was going bad as well, it is a piece of electronics afterall.

thanks all...yea its on its way to Horizon...nothing unusal about that day, as I said 50+ flites with no issues on this bird...there is a busy interstate nearby and many other fellow pilots than I have reported lockout problems even on 2.4ghz....
just makes me crazy that we put thousands on these planes and still no safety guarantee of any kind, not property alone, but imagine injuring someone else...wow, and what am i doing making low high speed passes with this nonsense

Have you checked that 9303 for the wire rubbing issue on the gimbals?
