This is going to be their best plane yet. The quality of my 330 and Yak have been far better than anyone else out there.

Craig, your plane looks awesome!! I really like the blue and red mixing together. Your going to have one hell of an airplane.
When we were designing the plane we decided not to put counter ballances on the elevators because the full scale one did not have them. We made sure that the elevators were big enough not to need them. A couple of years ago there was some people fussing about a 260 that had counter ballances in a competition. I think that the pilot and builder had to make new stabs and elevators to quit the complaining. So we thought it would be best to make them as scale as possible so people could not protest. The rules might have changed by now but I'm not sure. Garrett Morrison |

I like the elevator throw.....that is sick!!!
Garrett, from what I understand the 10% rule only deals with the outline of the surfaces.....think about it, how in the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks would a Dalton 260 be scale......thems ailerons are HUGE

As far as I know counterbalances have never been a problem in IMAC. The TOC had a provision that if the full-scale plane didn't have them then the model couldn't either. I am not sure about the Don Lowe Masters.

Guys, I know about size or control surfaces and such. I was getting at the point that it was brought up one time before to a major pilot. I believe the rules have changed for imac but I will have to locate the rules. I think in the toc you could have your hinge line pretty much anywhere but the surface had to match. I remember seeing QQ's extra one year at TOC with the stab only being a few inches and the elevator being huge!! But there were still no counter ballances.
The plane will fly great with or without them. We decided to go with the non counter ballace elevators. Garrett |
