Thanks Cloudshaker. almost done now! Finished the front end. I Hysoled the motor box top in place and cut an access hole to inspect/service things. Sealed the hole with transparent Ultracote to see what's going on

Elie, I'll mount the handle just for you!! Maybe Sunday, we'll see how it goes. Call me tomorrow with Tom's address and I will get your horn out to him. I will get an all up weight soon. Craig

Craig,
Man please go look at your Email mate. I have been sitting here biting my finger nails awaiting a response. Its in your YAHOO mail account. That thing looks mighty cool mate but I have a silly question. With your motor so far back on the fire wall wont most of the cooling air pass over the front of the motor or go down those open sides in the cowl. It looks like it needs a Tony Russo style duct in the cowl so the air is forced onto the fins and then it may pass over the back of the engine and cool it. Mate not trying to be a smarty pants or anything, but it just doesnt look like it will cool right. Anyway answer my email or I will get Snap to annoy you until you do. Fantastic build job by the way. Kiwi, check your mail...there should be a respose there
I do plan to baffle it, but hope there will enough cooling behind it. We will see. Please let me know if the email is there or not. Craig |

Thanks for the compliments guys! I just pretty much finished it up. Just glued on the canopy. All that is left is to match the aileron servos. Everything else is set up and ready for maiden which will hopefully happen this week. If it ever stops raining, I will get some nice outside shots (with the tape off of the canopy!)
This has to be the cleanest, easiest assembly of an ARF I have done. Everything fit flawlessly. No sanding, hacking, tinkering, etc. I bet it will fly just as nicely as it went together. I will get an all up weight soon and a flight report too (hopefully with some video) No need to worry Elie, the handle will be mounted before the maiden. Don't forget to do some stretching prior to the maiden. This one may be a little quicker than the Yak!!! Here are a couple of pics in my shop for the guys that wanted to see the tops of the wings. Sorry for the tape....the canopy glue is still drying..I think the scheme looks awesome. If you guys like it, maybe it can be done as a production scheme. What do you think?? Craig |
