I understand they will discontinued the DL-50, This one is more powerfull with less weigth. Probably will happend the same thing with the DL-100. Bassically are the same block with more bore and stroke.

Upgrade kits ?
Can you change origional DL-50's/DL-100's to the new DLE-50's/DLE-100's pistons and cylinders ? If engine cases are the same & they only increased the bore, just change pistons and cylinders and you now have a 55 or 111.

Well. i am owner of a DL-50. I am so happy with this engine. Its very strong and stable. Definelly i will like a DL-55.
Also i have a DA-100 in my AWExtra 260 35%. Definelly will for $700 will be a very very nice upgrade. I will get one with close my eyes. I think DL will do a good punch with this engine.

Total length of motor from back face of stock standoffs to front face of prop hub is 170mm The DL-50 and DL-55 also share the same prop hub, and muffler mounting as the popular DA50. The DL-50 and DL55 share the same prop hub and muffler mounting dimensions as the popular DA-50R It is a great way to get into gas powered aircraft without breaking the bank! And if you already have a muffler/header for a DA50/100, it will just bolt straight on. If you are looking for a 50cc or 100cc size gas engine, that is light weight, powerful, of decent quality the DL is an excellent choice! Check out our home page at www.dlenginesaustralia.com or the FAQ links at the bottom of this page for more details. We import the engine direct from the factory in China and keep stock locally in Australia. The engines are unpacked and checked over for defects on arrival, and then boxed back up with our own English instructions ready for shipping. What about the DL-50R model, is this a newer or different model than the DL-50? NO , There is technically no such thing as a DL-50R , Its just a letter added on by some sellers to make the name sound more like the DA-50R. The DL50 is the DL50 , there is an earlier version with cast engine mounts. And a newer version supplied with machined standoffs from the factory, and thicker mounting lugs. The new version also has the Walbro pump tube tapped into the reed block instead of the crankcase. How do I tell I'm getting the latest version engine? Quickest way to check is to look at the colour of the prop shaft, if its silver/yellow gold in colour it is the latest version. If its black/charcoal it is an older stock engine. What 2 stroke oils available in Australia do you recommend? Castrol Active 2T is a good run in oil at 32:1 . There are many others available, but use good quality brand name products After run in Full synthetic - Castrol TT at 45 - 50:1 , Belray HR1 at 45 - 50:1 , Redline Racing at 40:1 are some of the many available from motorbike shops / auto parts stores. Use good quality brand name products and be accurate when measuring your fuel mix. Add oil to container first, then add the fuel to ensure good mixing. 32:1 is 31ml of oil per litre of petrol 40:1 is 25ml of oil per litre of petrol 45:1 is 22ml of oil per litre of petrol 50:1 is 20ml of oil per litre of petrol Have you got a Kill Switch? I'm suprised they didn't call this Quad either a DL-222 or 223cc. It's two Dl-111.2cc motors strapped together.....why did they call it a 220? In another thread , they had actually called it a 222cc....weird. NOt that it's a big deal....just curious.
