borealnw--if your flying imac don't worry about the 3 blade prop. if thats your yak in your avitar that your going to fly imac use a 22/8 mejzlik prop. i did all last year. wanted to try a 23/8 and i think that would be better. my menz 23/8 had more power.

Yes, I caught the one about the bearing. Unfortunately I don't know how the owner defines "rough". I might pull the plug and spin the engine a few times with some fuel in it to see how it works after that. If the engine is dry feeling a little "rough" is not out of line. Also need to know what it felt like when new and after the first run. The bearing check is somewhat comparative to what it was before.

Yes but you can't tell anything subtle about bearings with the jug on. Like T.O.M. said put a bit of fuel mix in it and try it again. After a couple months of sitting the cylinder is going to have some dry spots.

So I have a few more short runs on my dle 111 this morning....hummm. Seems as though the temp on the left cylinder, facing the engine, is running about 30 degrees hotter than the cylinder on the right. Is this normal? More importantly, am I doing anything wrong?

That's normal, rotational influences from the crankshaft cause the port cylinder to run a little richer than the other, all twins with a common crankcase do this to some degree. as the the engine breaks in and the rings seat better it will even out some but there will likely always be some difference.

Its funny how people es nervous waiting the DLE to quit when people are in hover......and crash, I think they just think it will happen like a DA did to a lot of people at the field. "they always said, well i just can send the engine for warranty, others think inside...o yeah and they also will replace the airplane too?"

The answer is simple. Hover higher. That applies to any engine.

Proper spark llug gap for a cm6 plug? I am running new NGK's straight out of the box and was so excited to start the engine I never checked them. Should probably do that... anyone know the gap?

Yep that's perfect. DA says .018" to .022" I believe. I set all mine to .018". I should just use an Exacto blade fron now on though. Much easier to find (laying all over my work benches).
